Scott Embry’s Friday Narrogin Preview Posted on January 6, 2022January 6, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ELDORADO RIVER has shown little bits and pieces here and there throughout his career. Finished midfield in a lot of races but generally running home when it’s all over. Last start at a mile was strong behind stablemate Acting God and Kutsanya. Another 120m looks a positive and Jett Stanley keeps the weight off his back. ODDONEOUT ran second behind Hoist The Colours this track and distance last start. Looks a staying type of mare and should get a nice midfield run. THEHUNTSMEN finished a long way off them last start. Prior to that his efortss had all been relatively competitive. One paced type. JOLLYODD is fresh and should lead for a fair way. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – ELDORADO RIVER WIN RACE 2 AMERISSA has returned to racing well for Kevin Mahoney. First-up in a 52+ at Narrogin finished second and then went to a Geraldton 64+ when finishing fourth behind Black Money and subsequent Walkaway Cup winner Rio Rogue. Last time out went to a 60+ at Ascot and was simply outclassed. Sneaks into a 46+ with a compressed weight scale and reunites with an in form Tash Faithful. MISSALFIE deadheated this track and distance last start in a higher grade. Has to be hard to beat again. CHAMPAGNE GAL has put in a couple of eye catchers recently. METEOR LIGHT hasn’t seen a race of this nature for a long while. Last time he backed up he finished third in a BM90! Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – AMERISSA WIN RACE 3 DEMITO hopefully can be the map and omen horse in the BJ Ryan “Jam It In The One One” maiden handicap. If Andrew Castle can get this mare into that spot then she can surprise a few of these. Her effort at York going back four start to Star of Rosie (beating Noble Scot) was enormous. Drops 1.5kg in maiden handicap conditions and Andrew Castle is going well at the outer provincials and country areas. DARGIE was an impressive trial winner when first joining the stables of Mitchell Pateman. Didn’t take it to the races and was beaten on the corner. Senior on, off to Narrogin and should give serious cheek. PENNYS AFIELD hails from the powerful Michael Lane yard. Keep safe on debut. MY ARGENTINA hasn’t raced for a long time but the trial was sound. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – DEMITO EACHWAY RACE 4 SAX ON QUE is a Narrogin specialist. First-up this track, grade and distance finished a half head off Blankenberge when they swamped in form mare Type Won and then two starts alter when coming back finished a narrow third behind deadheat winners Isola Bay and Izzy May. Gets a 3kg weight swing for being beaten 0.25L and with the ideal draw Holly Watson should have him poised to strike. Looks a great race for him. BOYISH will do what Boyish does. He’ll jump and run with the big weight. IZZY MAY let down powerfully last start. Haven’t seen that from her for a long time. HIGH PRECISION is better suited back in trip. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SAX ON QUE WIN RACE 5 ROCKNRULER looks to have found his race. Not an easy horse to ride and not an easy horse to catch but this looks the ideal set up for him. Finished third in this grade with a 4kg apprentice on back to back occasions at York and Narrogin in November and think it’s a confident move by Gino Poletti to engage the senior here on a tricky horse. Jordan Turner rides him well and this is his chance. HOIST THE COLOURS is double nominated for Wednesday and Thursday. You would think he’s top 4 material in either event. ALL ON BLACK won well last start. No claim for the apprentices is never an easy ask. WILD GALAH hasn’t been seen for 44 days but he is a natural staying type. Could be a blessing in disguise. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – ROCKNRULER WIN RACE 6 SWIFT GONDO is a throw at the stumps first start for Dean White. Was a super competitive and honest mare for Peter Western in the Great Southern and can race on speed and off speed. At one stage was a Simon Miller mare and so there’s a chance (small) that Tash Faithfull would have ridden her previously in track work as an added bonus. Tink her C2 Albany form is good enough to pinch this. SHEZABUTOO is not impossible. Some of the runs for previous trainer Misty Bazeley were enormous. NIYACHI is hard to catch but has a turn of foot on his day. DANEHILL STORM was good at his return to the grass. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – SWIFT GONDO WIN RACE 7 PASAJERO ran second to Lacevinsky in a 70+ at Narrogin over 1100m first-up. He then went to a C5 and finished third behind Heart of Coeur and Spillinova before striking interference as favourite in a 58+ at Albany. Last time out went to a 60+ Graduation and the winner of that race (The Great One) has since won a Mandurah Cup. Lowest grade of race he has seen since 10 November 2019 when he won a 52+ at York. My way home in the Market City Meats – Get Out Steaks (+Pepper Sauce). ALEXIS OLYMPIA is racing in super form for Michael Hackett. She looks like she’s ready to win and has shown versatility recently. GINGER SENORITA is racing well and like the placement into this grade. Drops 1.5kg and should box seat behind Foo Trouble and Stella Door. THE ANVIL like all of Gary Crispin’s horses fly at the York/Narrogin/Toodyay circuits. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – PASAJERO WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3 1,2 FIELD 1,5,8,10 Market Market
