Scott Embry’s Friday Mount Barker Preview Posted on February 19, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ORASKY has been there abouts all preparation. If she can sit over the speed she gets her chance to finally break through. LIKE HIM A BIT has been hitting the line well since joining Jonathon Jachmann. SO GREAT is capable of sitting off them and making a run deep. SASTA comes from a stable who can produce them at a price over a trip. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – ORASKY WIN Race 2 PURE GEM was an eye catching run first-up and then was unable to get anywhere near reeling in Grinding Hard last start. Senior rider on and drawn a gate he can win this. GRINDING HARD won well last start and this race is no tougher on paper. No reason why he can’t reproduce. CLEO’S AFTERPARTY is just starting to reproduce some of her early form. I’M A LOVE MAN is an out and out stayer and showed that last start lumping almost 70kg of ‘Autumn Leaves’ Rogers. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – PURE GEM WIN Race 3 SCENIC JOURNEY looks well placed on debut to give this a real shake. The most recent trial was good, blinkers remain on for her debut run and from the awkward gate she should work across. If she gets in she’s hard to beat. FOOTINGS Has run some nice races at a price in the past and could be the blow out. FAMOUS ROMANCE was going well before going to Kojonup. HORAAN won’t get a better chance than this to break through. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – SCENIC JOURNEY WIN Race 4 TONED is a veteran of WA racing but he goes great guns at Mt Barker and this race looks picture perfect for the old boy to salute again. Pateman rides him well and it could be a Friday Fill up for ‘the money man’. WONORG will find this far more suitable than recent Saturday and metro assignments. MASS EFFECT has been disappointing but no excuse from the gate. DRIVIN’ ME WILD needs things to go his way. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – TONED WIN Race 5 BOXONLUCY was big first-up and then arguably even bigger second-up when drawn in the carpark and only being beaten less than a half length in a very fast run race. Draws a gate here and should be hard to roll. MESSIAH is in form and the Roy Rogers camp is white hot. STOCKYARD GOSSIP is a hard horse to catch but usually puts in a run fresh. COUNT KALA’s best would be winning but the best and worst is a fair way apart. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – BOXONLUCY WIN Race 6 SCOOTER’S MACHINE was scratched from a Wednesday race to be saved for this and trainer rider Kyra Yuill should have him out in front for a long way. WHAT ABOUT MOSES comes out of maiden grade but has always looked like a horse who will keep improving with racing. Can be competitive here. MORGS FREEMAN will need to sustain a long run to win this from the gate. ELLENS CHOICE was let run last start and went really well. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 7 – 13 Suggested Bet – SCOOTER’S MACHINE WIN Race 7 IT’S NOT TRADING is going as well as anything in the region at the minute and even with 60kg he looks very hard to beat. Drawn a gate, has speed and is tough. TRANQUILLA SUNRISE draws woefully and forget he went around last start. Will need luck. POLDARKS GIRL likely gets a long way off them but should be coming hard late. PRINCE FRIAR is suited over further but can always sprint well freshened up. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – IT’S NOT TRADING WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2 4,5 3,7,8 1 Market Market
