Scott Embry’s Friday Esperance Preview Posted on December 19, 2019December 19, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 WHERE’S WALLY was possibly a shade unlucky in the home straight when having to change direction in between horses but ultimately was unable to reel in Bells Tower and Truth and Lies. Neither of those two accept here and with Yuill back aboard he looks the one. SHADY GRAY finished off the race nicely and can continue to build. PIRATES MISTRESS has been excellent at both runs back this preparation but this is tougher. PENALTY POINT is racing below her best. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – WHERE’S WALLY WIN Race 2 COMBAT READY was huge in defeat last start when making sustained ground to get within 1L of the winner. The maidens broke benchmark on a rare occasion in Esperance and he should simply be superior to opposition here. Looks a Friday Fill. BLUE TURNS TO GRAY is ultra consistent but lacks a killer blow. ASTRALANDER caught the eye two starts back. BLACK WING finished hard last start and looks a stayer in the making. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – COMBAT READY WIN Race 3 YULONG ROCKSTAR has his first outing in Esperance after three starts in Perth. Not disgraced at his first two and then may have found the 1400 a touch too far last time out. Can be the big improver. JACK’S FROST simply can not draw a gate. Easily going well enough to win but boy oh boy he’s due some luck. SERKET was sectionally a big run fresh but has had a lot of opportunities. ANGEL JUPITER resumes but needs to improve. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – YULONG ROCKSTAR WIN Race 4 TUMBLEWEED TANGO was a huge replay watch two starts ago and then didn’t enjoy the best of luck last time out. This is another evenly graded affair and she is racing extremely well. LUNA ROSSA was a big winner fresh and then far from disgraced last time out when last but only beaten 3L. SCREAM IN BLUE returned with a bang fresh. Reproduce that run and he’ll nearly win. ALI BARBER is consistent and honest as they come. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – TUMBLEWEED TANGO WIN Race 5 CITY RANSOM and SNIPPIRANHA are both last start maiden winners and both were as impressive as the other. Siding with CITY RANSOM who should find the front and run them along. SNIPPIRANHA took possibly a few more runs than expected to break her maiden but has always shown above average ability. DRIFTWOOD GIRL was charging late last start and that is her racing pattern. SOUND OF FURY bounced back from one disappointing run two starts ago. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – CITY RANSOM WIN Race 6 FRIAR’S LUCK will go round at cricket score odds but the last two runs have been far better than they read on paper. Some of the closing sections have suggested that a win is just round the corner and if Witten can jump with them the 10 year old can run a race at a price. LAST LEGACY had her colours lowered for the first time this preparation last start. Had genuine excuses when working hard early. UNIKAT was better last start but is not the same horse as he was when he was a 3 year old. SOUTHERN WARRIOR draws a plumb gate and rarely runs a bad race. Numbers: 11 – 8 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – FRIAR’S LUCK EACHWAY Race 7 BROTHER PADDY was a big replay watch last start. Huge into fourth placing. Draws poorly but usually when Craig Staples heads down to Esperance it is for at least a winner. Suggesting Brother Paddy could be the one. THE LAST WALTZ gets back from the wide draw but is absolutely flying recently. MISS UNFORGETTABLE should find the front from the middle of the line and controls the tempo. BENTLEY’S BROTHER is honest but finds it hard to win races. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – BROTHER PADDY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,5,6 2,6 2,3,6,8,11 1,5,6,7 Market Market
