Scott Embry’s Friday Esperance Preview Posted on December 4, 2024December 4, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 WEST COAST WARRIOR had 23 starts for Paul Jordan in Perth and on a fair few occasions showed more than enough ability to be winning a maiden or better. Placed to Tallangatta, fourth to Antique Miss, split Don’t Trust Judas and Lova Session, finished fourth in a race where Petrouchka ran third. Big unknown first-up, no trial but with Gary Burger so happy to have a throw at the stumps. TANKSFORTHEMEMORY went super at his first outing in Esperance and went to the line just behind a nice filly in Kimberley Rose. QUEEN OF CHAOS leads and rolls. NADELL ran fourth in the same race. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 9 – 11 Suggested Bet – WEST COAST WARRIOR WIN RACE 2 PRIZED JEWEL should be a nice acquisition for Paul Tapper and this looks a great race for her to break through in. Went close on a few occasions last campaign with Luke Fernie and the run 52 days between outings when second to Royal Accolade was strong. COHENS SONG ran fourth on debut at Bunbury beaten under 2L by Terratif, Magnasonic and Shasfa. Has been struggling to get a start recently (emergency at Narrogin 22/11, Geraldton 27/11 and Albany 28/11) so no doubt she’s ready. Just wish she wasn’t barrier 1. FAVAIOS ran third in the same race as Prized Jewel. CAULDRON had the Bravo Centurion form and was crunched at the opening meeting. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – PRIZED JEWEL WIN RACE 3 TALK SOFTLY won 5 straight races last season to go from a c55 to a c73. Went to the Ron Sayers Memorial Sprint first-up without a trial and wasn’t at that level. This is more to his liking. AL QUEPONE hasn’t raced in almost 12 months. Trialled at the opening meeting for Austin Galati and looked good and his Esperance form over many a season has been exceptionally good. Logical danger. FALSE STATEMENT is hard to catch but should be suited to the get back, run on out wide Esperance style of racing. PRO IS HERE can lead. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – TALK SOFTLY WIN RACE 4 MYTHICAL MISS ran some cheeky races for Tony Triscari last preparation and now lobs in Esperance with Rob Payton. Placed to Magicash, placed to Made In Mexico. All good enough to win this with the right run. PARADISE STAR ran well at the opening meeting and should only improve second-up. Rarely far from the winner. LUCKY SUE had two runs for Nicholas Thomas in Kalgoorlie and was 10L below her best. His team went well on opening day so keep safe. THE LIONS GATE ran two honest races at his first two runs in WA. Numbers: 10 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – MYTHICAL MISS WIN RACE 5 MUNGO JERRY was really popular in early betting at the opening meeting but on race day was no match for stablemate Boozeroo. Drops from a 64+ back into a C5 and given the way that the track tends to play expecting that Chanel Cooper will be keen to kick through and lead rather than being crossed. Nice race for him. BLAZING PASSION showed first-up that she’ll be winning races again this campaign. NICCOLITE finally (might) make her WA debut. Went around in a Listed Race at the Bool in May…DAWN AMNESTY won well on Opening Day. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MUNGO JERRY WIN RACE 6 ELITE FIGHTER had his first start for Josh Brown and was a brilliant winner at the Opening Meeting. He was once a c71 and got right back down to a c61. That means he’s got plenty of room left to continue to his way back up through the grades and see no reason why he won’t be hard to beat again. Just needs to overcome the dreaded Esperance Gate 1. LINCOLNS LAW sneaks back in grade and was a little unlucky behind Boozeroo. NORTHERN IVY comes from that same race and ran a decent third. ROCK OF KAHA is always capable. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – ELITE FIGHTER WIN RACE 7 TRUE CHANCE has always shown well above average ability and might now be ready to put it all together and work his way through the grades in Esperance. Loved his fresh win on Opening Day, winning in this grade over 1300m in a time 3L faster than average. Rises another 100m which is even more to his liking and shouldn’t have any troubles carrying 60.5kg against a similar line-up. MINOR DETAIL won a trial on Opening Day and can bob up from time to time. FRIAR THE GUN is an honest campaigner and meets True Chance 1kg better this time around. HOT PUDDIN is already a C2 1300m winner at Esperance. Keep safe. Numbers: 1 – 14 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – TRUE CHANCE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,6,7,8,10 1,2,3 3,4,6 1 Market Market
