Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on June 26, 2024June 26, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FAIR GRACE has a set of blinkers added for the first time in her career and steps out to 1400m. Expect that Chanel Cooper will safely find the front on a mare who has the speed to lead over 1000 so she’ll be able to find the top, dictate and most importantly stay out of trouble. Ray Malpass is coming off a 4 winner meeting and this is not a deep race. ENORME is first-up over 1400m after being off the scene for 457 days. Trials nothing to go on but at least she’s from the right yard. BRAZILIAN BELLE wasn’t too bad last start. PRIZED BENEFIT goes in for fourth purely out of respect for Tash Faithfull. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – FAIR GRACE WIN RACE 2 WESTERN IMPACT put in his best run of the campaign so far and now with Chanel Cooper going on he drops 1.5kg in weight. Hopefully he’s now found his feet on the dirt and if he reproduces the run behind stablemate Whos Your Mama from a C3 then he should be very hard to beat here in a C1. GINGER JIVE, WAR TACTICS and DRANGONFLIES are all last start maiden winners who head into C1 company. Of that trio thinking that potentially WAR TACTICS has the most upside. Was powering away late last start. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – WESTERN IMPACT WIN RACE 3 MIR was terribly unlucky last start. He got held up in a lot of traffic and was only getting out once the race was over. Back to 1200m – tick, senior rider on – tick and while he has to lump 62kg he was a first-up winner with 63 so really see no reason why he won’t be hard to beat here. BITOVEMU got under the guard last start. She had solid provincial/country form and was proven on dirt. Ray Malpass runners shouldn’t go round 25-1 regardless. TINYNTUFF is loving life on the dirt and with no weight she’ll be hard to beat again. MANTELLI took charge with the shades on. Like the fact they’ve come off. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – MIR WIN RACE 4 PASSPORT was good last start in a 64+ behind Crystal Vain, Looking Great and Hafey. That trio would be extremely short in a race of this nature and think that this is excellent placement to drop him back in grade with the luxurious 3kg claim for Cooper. She has a big book on Friday and this is another gun ride. WUHAN WARRIOR steps out to relatively unchartered waters at 1400m. No doubt it’s in an attempt to guarantee he has enough speed to find the fence because he’s just a different horse when he’s up against the paint. WHOS YOUR MAMA was back to her best last start with a sneaky drop in grade. TOMMY TO JACK is flying and can sustain a run out deep. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – PASSPORT WIN RACE 5 HEARTFORD HOUSE has run two rippers since arriving in Carnarvon. Winner of a 56+ leading throughout over 1000 first-up and then ran into Bitovemu and Mir last start in a form race that should hold up in Race 3. Great set up for him here. MRS KANGAROO has travelled some kilometres. Ran second at Ascot behind Masamune before heading to Carnarvon (raced in the abandoned race on 18 May), then to Roebourne on the 9th of June and now back to Carnarvon. Back to the 1000m could be key. RAKIURA is quick and the senior rider going back on could be an indication of intent. PRIMATIVE is going along well for the new yard. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – HEARTFORD HOUSE WIN RACE 6 HAFEY needs to turn the tables on Crystal Vain and Looking Great but thinking out to the mile he gets his opportunity to do so. Crystal Vain is now up to 62.5kg and has never raced beyond 1400 and he was only half a length off Looking Great on the line and was pulling ground off the pair. Think he’s the best suited of that trio stepping out to 1600. CRYSTAL VAIN did win by over 4L and wasn’t exactly stopping late. In front for a long way. LOOKING GREAT is rising 12 years old but he’s still at the peak of his powers. ALKALINE is ticking along well. There’s a win in him this season. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – HAFEY WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,6,8 1,2,3,6 1,3,8 1,2,3 Market Market
