Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on July 28, 2021July 28, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 EMPIRE KHAN should finally be breaking through after going close at Carnarvon on a number of occasions. Finished second in the region on three separate occasions and his first-up effort was brave when narrowly defeated by stablemate and sprinter Nobel Star. Extra furlong helps and strikes a field where he has beaten the vast majority of runners home previously. NERO CHIN CHIN is a bookmakers best friend! Always well supported, always doing things wrong. Pinches one eventually. SUPER BON may have needed the run fresh and they can always peak second start on the surface. POP THE MOET was great two starts ago. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – EMPIRE KHAN WIN RACE 2 CASUAL TRADE vs MORDOR is an intriguing clash of two emerging Carnarvon stars. CASUAL TRADE the winner of 3x 56+ and 1x 64+ this season and MORDOR the winner of a C1 and a 64+. Going to side with CASUAL TRADE as the proven commodity over the track/distance after yet another dominant win last start that saw him whacked with 5 points. Ran time and bolted in. MORDOR won the Minilya Sprint on the same day and looked a much sharper horse with the blinkers on. MADRID CENTRO can come out running and is building. SALAMAAT is better than what he’s currently showing. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – CASUAL TRADE WIN RACE 3 CARELESSLY was a shock winner of a C3 last start as a maiden filly dropping from a mile back to 1200m. Found the front, ran them along and never looked like stopping. If she can simply reproduce that run and that figure then she’ll take real beating here. BIG SWOOP is coming back from 1600 to 1400m and last start ran into Mystical Man one of the most talked about horses in the region. That’s the right form. BANGCRASH was a big run last start and replay watchers will be following up. LIKE HIM A BIT can be forgiven for one poor run. Previous form excellent. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – CARELESSLY WIN RACE 4 MOVENZA was the mare who was unable to reel in surprise winner Carelessly last start. Has hit a purple patch of form after beating Verdigras three starts ago, doing a power of work three and four deep the trip two starts ago and then last start breaking the hearts of her loyal following but losing no admirers. We go again. ALL THE JULZ was unable to find a position at her Carnarvon debut. This race lacks any real tempo. Expecting her to come on quickly. JUPITERS SUN is his own worst enemy with the way he does things wrong. Gate 1 a huge unknown. BULL BAILEY won well two starts ago. Keep safe. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – MOVENZA WIN RACE 5 MYSTICAL MAN is going from strength to strength and has only just started to find his feet as Zach Tyler (who is having an incredible season) has stepped him out in distance. Can do a few things wrong out of the gates and might be spat out the back early but Tash Faithful knows him well and he is winding up powerfully mid-race. Looks like a Cups horse for 2022 (if they have the patience to skip this year’s Cup). HONORFIC has put in some eye-catching runs already this season in three outings. Getting closer. AL CAPITANO can come across from the wide gate to take up a position. VITAL BOOM has improved at every run. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – MYSTICAL MAN WIN RACE 6 VERDIGRAS has done nothing wrong this season having won a maiden and a C1 in style. In between ran second to Movenza in the fastest 1200 of the season and kept on the fresh side is a big chance of extending the great run that Zach Tyler is having. STRIDE OUT is the proven horse in this grade. Loves racing at Carnarvon and only two starts ago finished within a length of the winner in a 64+. SEA LAKE was big at her Carnarvon debut. If she can position up from the draw she’s a live chance. MYTHICAL TRUST turns 11 on Sunday and still has a win left in those old legs. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – VERDIGRAS WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 2,3,4,8 3,7,8,9 3 1,2,3,9,10 Market Market
