Scott Embry’s Friday Broome Preview Posted on July 27, 2023July 27, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 WUHAN WARRIOR, SO SWAY and SIOUX CITY would all ideally like to find the front over the 1100m in only a 4 horse race. Expecting that Chris Nicoll will do everything in his power to kick through and hold up on SIOUX CITY and from there he gets every chance to go back to back. WUHAN WARRIOR was run down easily in the end at Derby last week. Traded $1.15 in the run after jumping and putting a gap on them in the middle stages. SO SWAY has bar plates going on the front which is never ideal. Win 33 days ago was strong beating Sioux City. PRINCE SAIYAN next best. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – WUHAN WARRIOR WIN RACE 2 AIN’T I A WOMAN has to run out 1435m but she looks like she’ll be able to kick through from barrier 1 and play catch me if you can in the small field. Shades go back on for the first time in over 2 years and she should be in front for a fair way. Expect she’ll be vulnerable late. SPIRITSON is a last start maiden winner who rises 2kg. Now that he’s found his feet on the dirt he looks like he can go on with it. BLITZ EM HENRY and ORTUM KRISP were both in the same maiden and realistically don’t think there’s a lot between them. All 5 can win. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – AIN’T I A WOMAN WIN RACE 3 APPLE SCHNAPPS gets his chance with Jarrad Noske jumping aboard. They haven’t used his speed yet this preparation and from barrier 2 expecting him to settle in the first 4 in running and from there he’s hard to hold out. Meets Silkinize 1kg better at the weights and gets a commanding senior hoop on from their last encounter 12 days ago. STAR SOPRANO was super impressive at his first start on the dirt. He really bounded away late and on the 54kg looks dangerous. SILKINZE is looking for four straight wins on the dirt and is undeniably flying. Finding under pressure too. PIT TO WIN is always a chance. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – APPLE SCHNAPPS WIN RACE 4 TOPPA THE MOUNTAIN looked a different animal first-up. He jumped cleanly, he travelled super and he never looked like stopping at any stage. After a long, frustrating run of outs here’s hoping that Peter Farrell has him back to his best. May have to sit up outside of speedy stablemate Joyrize this time however. HERE NO CASH did it tough last start and had nothing to offer late. Shades go on and he drops 1.5kg. GETYOURMONEYANDRUN should take great improvement from his first run on the dirt. VICCY HAS SPOKEN needs to load. If she does, she’s a big chance. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – TOPPA THE MOUNTAIN WIN RACE 5 FINAL PLAN looks logically hard to run down. They have really, really struggled to make ground all season at Broome and he’s a rock hard fit leader who drops back from 1800m to 1600m. The horse who ran him down in the shadows last start looks on track to contest a Broome Cup and Final Plan drops back to a mile where he should have no worries finding the top and dictating. DASHING IMAGE hasn’t raced quite at the same level as 12 months ago but is sure to appreciate the drop back from 70+ grade. HOOLAHOOPS is consistently thereabouts. UNO ME gets a soft run. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – FINAL PLAN WIN RACE 6 TRUE ATTRACTION has 65kg to carry but he looks awfully hard to beat in the Cable Beach Caravan Park Cup of 2023. Was excited to see the clash between him and Rogue’s Point but with the grey an early scratching it really does look his race to lose. It’s a free swing for Jarrad Noske and Aaron Pateman – he’s already top weight in the Cup. The way he extended late at his dirt debut brought back memories of Ihtsahymn. OMBUDSMAN was a nice Cups trial last start behind Rogue’s Point. POWERFUL is on trial at 1800m but finding some form. KORANIS next best. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – TRUE ATTRACTION WIN RACE 7 BUSTER’S FORCE is racing like he wants 2000m. He finished 5L off KOranis and Sunsphere in a 58+ 1600 then finished 3L off Sunsphere and Final Plan in a 58+ 1800. Now drops back into a 50+ and gets out to 2020. We’ll see if he stays. PIEROPAN ran second behind Bonneville Black beating home Koranis in last weekend’s Derby Cup. Hasn’t won a race since arriving in WA but needs the full 2000m and now with Jarrad Noske going on he gets his chance. ROCKING THE MERC has put two together and is showing grit. FREQUENT FRIAR will run the trip. Gives Darryn Pateman another big chance in a race with four runners. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – BUSTER’S FORCE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4,7 2 1 2,4,5,6,7,8,9 Market Market
