Scott Embry’s Friday Ascot Preview Posted on April 1, 2021April 1, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ALLMAMONEY picks herself on her most recent effort when finishing second behind stakes winning filly Magical Dream and beating home winners Hot Zed, Indigo Blue, Kerman Rock, Blow Me Out and Alpha & Omega. Drops from a Saturday race back into a midweeker and takes on a field of 6 opponents, 3 of which are maidens. Carries top weight, gets back in the run but her class should see her salute. WARICIDIUM drops back in distance and after the claim for Beaux Edwards gets significant weight relief. POWERFUL FORCE continues to go round short (copy paste job) for a limited animal. Not much under the hood when Pike says go. BREKKY WITH A BANG can lead and give a kick. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – ALLMAMONEY WIN RACE 2 BIG SCREEN ran well on debut at Northam back in October of 2020 when finishing a handy third behind Excerpt and Life for a Life. Was then thrown into the deep end when contesting a Saturday race containing the likes of Kissonallforcheeks, Sassy Trader, First Law and Secret Plan. Resumed in a Saturday 1000m dash when far from disgraced behind Our Boy Dylan and Sassy Trader. Drops back into maiden company, should find the front and control the tempo. Expecting a run from him. AMERICAN GRIN has now gone under as favourite at his last two with the most recent effort a shade disappointing. Was backed into $1.60 but Pateman was at him a fair way from home and he never looked like getting the job done. MOLLY MAGEE is very consistent but continually finds one or two better. LADY OF BABYLON hit the line well on debut. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – BIG SCREEN WIN RACE 3 BE OPTIMISTIC looks unlikely to gain a start in the Karrakatta Plate and so accepts on Friday. Versatile filly who should be suited by the big drop in grade. Worked hard throughout in the Gimcrack and was far from disgraced. This is much easier and she looks like she’s been screaming out for 1400. GREEN AND SHADY had his first start for LK Fernie in the Perth Stakes. 1100m looked too sharp for him and he was chasing a long way out. Looks a 1400m+ type and from the draw he should get the right run midfield. ALMAHER MAN has blinkers added and if he can reproduce his debut performance would be in the mix. KEMPY GOLD struck significant interference on debut and yet was still hitting the line. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 2 – 12 Suggested Bet – BE OPTIMISTIC EACHWAY RACE 4 WINSALOT was a strong maiden winner three starts ago, ran into Temptacion two starts ago when beating home impressive subsequent winner Fiery Bay and then contested a C1 1690m event at Bunbury when heavily commissioned in betting and simply settling in a different postcode to the eventual winner. By the time she got out the bird had flown and she ran home strongly into second. Gets her chance to rebound here. MAIN ENGINE won well last start and has shown glimpses to date. The form could look even stronger if American Grin breaks his duck in R2. ROCK THIS COUNTRY returned in super order. Can’t ask for any more than what he produced first-up off a 500 day absence. PROCEEDS OF CRIME looks like waltzing to the top. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – WINSALOT WIN RACE 5 KORANIS has hit a purple patch of form for Jarrad Noske and seems to have appreciated being ridden for speed by Keshaw Dhurun. Beaten a nose by No Apology at 1400m, he stepped out 7 days later when tracking a hot tempo set by Al Magico and was winning a long, long way from home. Here 9 days later he steps out in trip again to 1800m and gets a great chance to go back to back. ADMIRAL HUSSON has the Temptacion/Marrochino form which looks great on paper. Interesting to see where he lands from the inside draw. THE CAT RATCHER is very hard to catch but has shown signs that he’s going well enough to win this. TRISUEM is starting to emerge as a handy middle-distance mare. Can’t fault her last month. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – KORANIS WIN RACE 6 JUST A PINCH has all the race form you want on paper. Third behind Madam Torio, third behind Acromantula and then not disgraced in the Placid Ark Stakes behind Chantorque and Charleton Eddie. Just needs an ounce of luck from a tough draw. Faith shown in Keshaw Dhurun by the stable and assisted by early scratchings. NURHACI trialled up like he can go through the grades. IMPRUDENT does a lot wrong but has a turn of foot when he goes straight. LORDING was plunged to beat Miss Conteki last start in a 60+. Now drops into a C1. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – JUST A PINCH WIN RACE 7 THE ESCORT will need some luck in the first 200-400m of the race from gate 10 but if Kyra Yuill can work her way across and land in a one-off position, he looks like he has found a suitable race. Knocking on the door after placing at his last three behind Bella’s Idol, Saucy Jack and Unreliable. Sneaks in on the minimum and with even luck is an eachway chance. QUEEN TAKES KING was given a 12/10 by Brad Rawiller last start. The 2200m starting point is much less forgiving than the 2200 but he is a class act and if he gets her the right run, she’s an emerging staying talent. RED HOT TIP has raced in exclusively higher grade since he won the Melvista Stakes. Should be nearing peak fitness. HYPERSPACE has been hard to catch but the bars off is a positive sign. Numbers: 16 – 2 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – THE ESCORT EACHWAY RACE 8 SAMIZDAT, DIG DEEP, SERENITY BAY, MEDIA BARON and YEAH DARDY all come from the Grandstand Cup where there wasn’t a whole lot between them. SAMIZDAT is running his races in patches but also looks like he is screaming out for further. Only gets an extra 100m but if he can work his way through that flat spot he is hitting at the 600 he’ll be finishing as well as anything. DIG DEEP got the split in the Grandstand Cup and that proved the difference in the finish. Likely to track into the race from an identical position in running here. ARCTIC STREAM beat them both home in the Bunbury Stakes and looks a big danger to the pair. MEDIA BARON is going huge. Ready to win but needs track/rail/wind conditions to suit. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – SAMIZDAT WIN RACE 9 ME ‘N’ TAZ certainly doesn’t have outstanding form for this race but unlike the majority of rivals, he is in form. Winner of a 52+ and a C5 at his last two when leading throughout and really gets his chance to pinch one in town. Senior rider on, again finds the front and a lot of horses in this field are looking to break long winless droughts. At a double figure quote is worth a throw at the stumps. CRYSTAL SPIRIT is one of those. Particularly well placed in this grade as a 2x 72+ winner but has clearly had some issues. BLANKENBERGE ran well first-up no trial but will need some luck from the draw. ANNIHILATOR hasn’t fired a shot this preparation but rates well off his previous campaign. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – ME N TAZ EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 3,6,10 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,10,16 2,3,4,6,8 1,2,3,7,10 Market Market
