He couldn’t reel in 50 start maiden Jolly Odd last start which is a huge form concern but from the inside gate, back 100m and with a cutaway in play he looks to get every mortal hope against a field vastly similar to last start. DEADLY AND FAST has finished third in the same races that Warralea Diamond has finished second in at their last two. HANS CHRISTIAN was a big improver last start at 80-1 when only beaten 1.5L by Looks. RED WITH TED next best. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – WARRALEA DIAMOND WIN RACE 2 MOVING ON ran second to Work Home Front (beating home subsequent winners First Contact, Looks and Talking Heads) three starts back off a 6 week freshen. Last time out split Looks and Good Song. That form puts him right in the mix and he’s drawn ideally. GOOD SONG ran fourth first-up and then was only half a length off Looks and Moving On at his second start this campaign. SAFE RAPPA has been given a 50 day freshen. Knocked on the door when last in work. PINBALL PLAYER can improve on his first start for Roy Rogers. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MOVING ON WIN RACE 3 ATHLONE CASTLE won an 1100m 58+ at Albany on 24 April 2022. 364 days later he won an 1100m 58+ at Albany. Remarkable scenes. He did nothing but drift last start, opened $8 and jumped $17 but he was the only horse you wanted to be on in the run. Drops 2kg in weight coming back into 70+ company but he’s capable of going back to back. BLUE LINE has had an interesting season. Failed to fire early in his preparation then bounced back to his best at Barker with a dominant 70+ win and has since seemingly tapered off again. Sam Faithfull produces him off a 6 week freshen and he has run really well off similar preparations previously. Winnable at his best. TREVELLO improves lengths with Pike back aboard. SIR SNUGALOT can still go quick. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – ATHLONE CASTLE EACHWAY RACE 4 GOD’S MOMENT would be up there with Great Southern Horse of the Year polling. In one big long 13 start preparation she won a maiden, C1, C2 & 58+ as well as recording three minors. Given 6 weeks to freshen and now has William Pike aboard. Sits just off Star Soprano and Oxbridge and is very dangerous from there. MILLIVOY hasn’t had the best of luck since returning from 461 days away from the track. Drawn to get every favour along the inside. STAR SOPRANO is far better suited leading and gets that opportunity here. MORGS FREEMAN gets some weight off with the claim. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – GOD’S MOMENT WIN RACE 5 AVOIDANCE was ridden for complete speed last start in the same way that he was ridden when trained by Gai Waterhouse in NSW. He won a 1300m maiden at Hawksbury and a 64+ 1400 at Newcastle when leading and rolling. That’s how to ride him and it worked wonders last start. MR MT WALKER is really well placed into this company. He won in this grade three starts ago with 61kg and carries only 59.5kg here after Rosie Mahony’s claim. Goes well fresh and can sprint with them at this level. PATROCITY is getting close to another win. VRUM is as honest as they come. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – AVOIDANCE WIN RACE 6 MAKE YOUR POINT looks a class above them here. After winning a maiden impressively back in March he has finished fourth behind Leniency, Supersession and Pot Shot, fourth behind Deep Envy, Pot Shot and Ex Sport Girl and then third behind Snippenova and Go Go Grommet all in higher grade than this. Drops from a 3 year old 0MWLY into a C2 and actually drops half a kilo. Lead or box seat with the cutaway. Ticks a lot of boxes. HIDE THE OREOS rolled along at a strong gallop on a wet track at Ascot on Anzac Day and was only gobbled up late. LOOKS finally broke through last start. HOT CHATTER couldn’t reproduce that eyecatcher from two starts back. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAKE YOUR POINT WIN RACE 7 PLAYIN’ HARDBALL went 7 weeks from an Albany maiden win into a C1 at Ascot on Anzac Day. The beaten margin was 5.5L but the winner Belgrano Belle got right away from them to win by 5.4L. Was a blanket go for second through fifth. Didn’t mind the effort considering the gap between runs and she looks to have a great map here with William Pike riding at Albany on a Friday. Surely the Wizard leaves with at least a winner or three? VONSNIP ran really well behind Avoidance and can box seat with the cutaway. DIVINE MERCY is racing well. PENNED returns to the Great Southern. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – PLAYIN’ HARDBALL WIN RACE 8 THE GREAT ONE was really well found in betting last start in a 70+ and duly saluted with an impressive turn of acceleration to win by over 1L. He drops back from a 70+ into a 58+ and while he rises 4.5kg in weight he meets a weaker line-up and should enjoy the run of the race from the inside alley. Has run well for Rosie Mahony previously and looks very astutely placed. ROCK OF KAHA couldn’t make it four in a line but with Austin Galati back in the saddle and the box seat/cutaway run available he looks a big danger. TRADEM IN is back in a bit of form. BENTLEY BEAU is racing consistently. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – THE GREAT ONE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2 3,5 1,2,5,6 2,5,6 Market Market
