Scott Embry’s Easter Monday York Preview Posted on April 16, 2022April 16, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SILVER SAX was only beaten 5L on debut in a 2 year old race by Featherweight, Ain’t No Other Man and Awesome Rival and in a recent trial under Sasha Starley beat home impressive Pinjarra debut winner Colossal. If the filly can cross them and find the fence she might just pinch this. Market watch. GLOBAL CONFLICT finds a new home with Misty Bazeley. Debut run and first-up run when last in work where her two best career runs so might be best fresh. RUBRICA has shown glimpses here and there. The first-up run when last in work wasn’t too bad. SHAMARA should get a soft run along the fence. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SILVER SAX WIN RACE 2 ELEMENTARY HOLMES should get the job done at his second start in Western Australia. This is super placement by Rebecca Nairn and hopefully she will be rewarded for the decision to scratch from Ascot on Good Friday and accept on Monday at York. Not the easiest track for 3kg claimers to navigate but with even luck Cassey Martinan should find the front or sit just off Kirigami and prove too classy. SILVER BEAU is bursting to win a race but is drawn awkwardly. Second to Blue Line measures up in this. NORICH didn’t get much luck first-up.. KIRIGAMI is jump and run. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – ELEMENTARY HOLMES WIN RACE 3 MERIT MAGIC looks another Long Weekend Special for punters off the back of the first-up and second-up performances. The filly trialled really well leading into this campaign and then finished third behind The Coolakin King and Please God and then reproduced with an even better run third behind Victory Vixen and Serviceman (races Good Friday at Ascot). Should get a gun run along the fence and as long as she doesn’t get held up be too strong. ARTIENNE has flashed potential a few times and backs up off 5 days from the Pinjarra meeting Wednesday. WHAITIRI was supported at odds last start and endured a torrid run. Might need further. ENDURING MEMORY will get back but can sustain a run. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – MERIT MAGIC WIN RACE 4 ART ADMIRER heads to York for the Ryan Hill, Victoria Corver combination and looks to have found a lovely race. Double nominated for Albany on Sunday and York on Monday, you would think they’ll take their pick of the weaker race, but you also couldn’t completely rule out backing up off 24 hours (has been done by Boy Hill before with success). Her fourth behind Strike Now, Blaiszen Cazah and Keytrade reads up super after Wednesday’s Pinjarra meeting and even the fourth to Stella Fair and Gold Merits or the third to Piccola Signora and Black Fantasy. No matter where you look the form is super. BRAVE CONTENDER looked to have found his race at Albany on Pingrup Cup Day. Just missed. Again maps a treat. ADMIRAL PROMO can come on quickly. HIGH MIST is fresh and talented on his day. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ART ADMIRER WIN RACE 5 BLAISZEN CAZAH is a wonderful bread and butter horse for Chris and Jerry Stelmach and when they can find races like this for him he rarely runs a bad race. Split Strike Now and subsequent plunge winner Keytrade two starts ago and then held off the fast finishing The Hawkeye last start in a particularly high rating affair (for 52+ company). Arguably even better suited out to 1920m and should go close to repeating the dose. FINAL CHILL is slowly but surely working into some form. Just not sure an inside gate actually helps him. BURN ONE DOWN got the job done last start. Watch to see how Vevinsky goes on Friday at Ascot. FROSTY HEART should be almost ready and is a bit of a York horse. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – BLAISZEN CAZAH WIN RACE 6 METALLIC QUEEN loves racing at the York, Narrogin, Toodyays of the world and this looks really good race for the mare. Interestingly Jason Whiting jumps off (rare) to side up with Tiny N Tuff so it’s a pick up ride for Kyra Yuill but we’ll stick strong with the tight/undulating track specialist. Finished only 3L off Penny’s Afield last start, good form for this. TINY N TUFF is a nice little filly for these types of race meetings. Matt Scott is really good at taking his team where they can win and this is the perfect example. MISS SILVERSPRINGS has put in two good runs for Simon Barrass and might find herself left alone in front. BIN SHALAA showed plenty early but has struggled since. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – METALLIC QUEEN WIN RACE 7 RED INFERNO had no luck first-up down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra behind Canto De Guerra and subsequent winner Al Quepone and then went to a 58+ at Ascot when finishing only a length off Pink N Gray and Lord Lonsdale. Looks ready to win third-up and while not a York winner is a winner at Narrogin which gives confidence that she’ll handle the track. Drawn to get the right run and think this is winnable for her. BEDOUIN BELLE comes through the same race and was really, really well supported in the market. Been up for an eternity but still racing well. PASAJERO was given a gun steer by Cassey Martinan last time out. Big winning chance again. MARLIZE is a classy mare on her day. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – RED INFERNO WIN RACE 8 CARABINIER is well suited to this type of grade. Paul Jordan has trained 5 winners in the last 365 days and amazingly 3 of those 5 are at York. Carabinier being one of them. 12 starters at York, 3 winners, 25% STR and 8% POT. Maps a treat, drops in grade after a string of consistent runs in 58+ and 60+ races on Saturdays at Ascot and should be right in the finish in an open event to finish the program. LUCY DA GREY is a great leader’s back, sit and sprint mare. This map is tougher but she’s going super. RAGING ROCKET is in great consistent form. FROSTY BEVERAGE a mad one at odds fresh. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – CARABINIER WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,6 4,6,7 1,2,3,5,9,10 3,4,6,7,9 Market Market
