Deane’s Moonee Valley Preview Posted on September 2, 2016September 5, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 1 NO.3 KANIANA In-form mare KANIANA looks well placed to win again when she contests the Benchmark 84 Handicap (1600m). The Darren Weir trained galloper was a luckless 5th behind NADEEM LASS over 1400 metres at Flemington on August 6 before backing up to score a comprehensive win over 1600 metres at Caulfield on August 13. She’s already a winner at Moonee Valley and gets the services of champion rider Damien Oliver in this race. The main danger looks to be the emerging talent DULVERTON, however KANIANA has the form and talent to win again. RACE 4 NO.12 LIVING LARGE LIVING LARGE has been a model of consistency this campaign and looks a good value chance when he contests the Benchmark 78 Handicap (1514m). After a series of good placings, the five year old scored a well-deserved win over 1500 metres at Cranbourne on August 11. He is effective in all conditions, has a good record at this distance and appears to be drawn for a cheap run from an inside draw. This is a competitive race with several chances, however LIVING LARGE is well placed to run another bold race at each way odds. RACE 5 NO.8 HEATHERLY Quality sprinter HEATHERLY resumed from a spell with a brave win in the Carlyon Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on August 20 and looks the testing material again when she contests the McEwan Stakes (1000m). The daughter of Lonhro looked as though she would improve with the benefit of that run and her form last campaign indicates that she gets better with racing. She is better suited under this weight scale and, with added fitness, can use her speed to dominate this race and win again. Bet Now
