Michael Heaton’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 30, 2026June 30, 2026 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 Some nice-looking debutants engaged for a winter midweek 2YO event. HANSADIOS has trialled well over 2 preparations now and was dominant when leading throughout to win her most recent 1000m heat. Mitch Pateman’s yard has been flying for a good couple of months (24% last 50 runners and 22.27% POT last 100 runners) and this filly should bounce straight to the lead and prove hard to beat. HEAVENLY PARADISE is unbeaten at the trials and whilst the outside draw looks tough, 3-deep-cover when the rail is out on a heavy Belmont track might end up a blessing. ROCKIN’ SERENITY might want further but she looked sharp enough with the shades in her recent trial and she gets Pike. LUNAR SPARK was a great run first up at Bunbury and each horse to come out of that Merivale Louvain race sincehas performed well. Numbers: 8-9-11-5 Suggested Bet – HANSADIOS WIN RACE 2 SUNSET SESSION hit the line super first up to finish a close second in a 3YO 0MWLY event at this track/distance which was a deeper race than this. He’s been a costly commodity for punters throughout his early career but he gets a nice setup here if he’s able to land in the moving line, he’s a Sessions in the wet and if he can reproduce the same finish as his fresh run he should be hard to beat. DEEPEST DESIRE showed enough last preparation and trialled up very nicely recently. The booking of Pike catches the eye. MAGIC BLUE POINT has looked sharp in her two recent trial wins and Blue Point stock typically handle these conditions. HUDDY’S TURN is a rising 7YO on debut but he looked good in his recent trial behind subsequent first up winner Ajicito. Numbers: 1-4-11-6 Suggested Bet – SUNSET SESSION WIN RACE 3 CALL ME INVINCIBLE was good first up at 1200m when sticking on for second to subsequent winner Reminiscence (and beating home an unlucky Western Miss) then looked stretched by the step to 1300m second up. The 100m drop in distance third up looks spot on for him and he should settle more prominently in the run here. WIN FOR BUSTER resumes without a trial and has been a beaten favourite at each of his 4 career starts to date (including at $1.50 and $1.65). Arguably his best run to date was on debut at this track/distance when running a fast-finishing head second to Fine Star and now the Pontiff jumps on for the first time. LONG LAUGH was a tough effort when 4-deep the trip last start and he should get the run of the race from his inside draw this time around. I LOVE YA MONEY is a watch at his first start for Mitch Pateman with the addition of blinkers for the first time and the booking of Pike. Numbers: 3-2-1-5 Suggested Bet – CALL ME INVINCIBLE EACH-WAY RACE 4 ALL VITAL is clearly a hard horse to catch (1 from 23) but he was a great run first up, no trial at this track/grade/distance when flashing late to finish second to the in-form Busy Fingers hard up against the fence on an off-rail day. He gets a suitable race shape here with good top end speed and the rail out on a wet day which could play into his hands. TIGER TANK broke his maiden status nicely first up over 1000m on a soft-7 track before a solid run second-up at 1200m. He’s now back to 1000m on a wet track and has options from his low draw. FLIP THE PATTYS trialled well then won impressively on debut. He was scratched from Saturday in preference for this and appears to have some upside. EARL IT IS resumes for his second preparation for Summer Dickson and was a fresh 1000m winner with Austin Galati aboard last campaign. Numbers: 7-4-2-5 Suggested Bet – ALL VITAL EACH-WAY RACE 5 EMPRESS OF INDIA was brilliantly placed dropping in class to Westspeed Platinum grade second up and she finished strongly to defeat the in-form Hezangelic. She rises only 1kg, loves Belmont and is a super honest mare in and around this level. MAI ALOHA has always promised a lot and returned with a sharp win first up, no trial. Her best form is on firmer going than what she’ll encounter here but she must be respected. ART SESSION is a tricky horse to catch but was back to his best last start and this looks a similar race shape where he can land outside the leader and travel comfortably. Stablemate UNDER INFLUENCE is a wet track Belmont 1000m swooper and this looks a suitable setup for him. His last start was slightly underwhelming but the speed was steadier than expected and his previous two efforts behind Long Service Leaf and Atlantic Spirit were sound. Numbers: 1-7-2-5 Suggested Bet – EMPRESS OF INDIA WIN RACE 6 CONCHETTA’S DREAM has been stiff at her last couple of starts and is knocking on the door for an overdue win. She’s going better than it reads on paper, the step back up to 1400m suits and if she lands in the moving line and is kept out of trouble she should be hard to hold out late. ELEGANT RULER has hit the line super at both starts this preparation and she looks capable of matching motors with Conchetta’s Dream if they straighten for home alongside each other. MIND FIELD is a nicely bred 3YO who has shown enough in his first two starts this preparation. He should land in a nice position midfield-with-cover. GEE TEE was a big run at her WA debut. Numbers: 7-5-3-9 Suggested Bet – CONCHETTA’S DREAM WIN RACE 7 An open race to end the day. CHOLLIMA has hit the line nicely to finish fourth in consecutive 66+ events at this track/distance at her past two starts and is a big class dropper. She’s raced exclusively in Saturday grade at her past 25 starts and is nicely weighted after ZJP’s claim. HERE FOR CHEQUES was plain in the same race last start but was a good run when fourth to Antique Queen, Spellborn and Herault at his previous outing and his past 25 starts have also all been at Saturday level. TIFF’S LAD caused a big upset at this track/grade/distance last start when leading and romping in by more than 4L. He smashed the clock that day, rises only 1kg and looks the logical leader again. ESTA MIRANDO backs up off 6 days after going down by a head last start and has been racing like she’s been wanting a mile. Numbers: 1-9-12-8 Suggested Bet – CHOLLIMA EACH-WAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,4,5,7,8 1,2,5,7,8 3,5,7 1,7,8,9,12 375 combinations Market Market
