He’s run second at his last two starts and was only grabbed in the final stages by Amarlie Miss last time out. CABLE GIRL had a messy run in transit first up before getting held up on straightening and then coming again late once clear. She now drops to 53kg after ZJP’S claim but will need an ounce of luck turning for home from her inside draw. MOONIEMA looks better suited coming back to 1200m after getting a bit keen over 1400m last start. He won’t be a maiden for long. NO HANDS joins Gary Sorensen’s yard and showed enough at trials for Dion Luciani. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 9 – 11 Suggested Bet – HOLY SPY WIN RACE 2 HILLSIDE HORACE has drawn the outside but is a natural backmarker anyhow. He was doing his best work late on debut over 1100m before running all the fastest closing sectionals and missing by a nose second-up over 1400m. He stays at the same distance and will be thundering home. RANDOM REWARDS ran well first up before puncturing after working hard last start. He’s an improver if he can get it a bit softer on-speed. OFFICIAL SECRET dumped her rider coming out of the gates on debut and has since been back to trials. She hasn’t set the world on fire in any of her trials but this is an easier assignment than what she would have contested first up and she carries just 53kg. YOU CAN TELL ME was beaten at Laverton and Leonora. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – HILLSIDE HORACE WIN RACE 3 JURENA GOLD was huge first up. Missed the start by a couple of lengths, settled a distant last then made up a stack of ground to be beaten <1.5L over 1100m. He’s a hard horse to catch but his effort was hard to miss and he’ll appreciate the step to 1400m and smaller field. SPEED BUBBLE was good over 1400m two and three starts back but gave nothing after racing a bit keenly over a mile last time out. He looks much better placed back in distance, down 1kg and from a better draw. SANABEAU drew barrier 11 first up and had no luck when posted wide throughout. She’s a lightly-raced 5YO with ability and can bounce back quickly from a much better draw. OUQBURRA steps from 1100m to 1400m but drops back to the grade he won in first up. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – JURENA GOLD WIN RACE 4 JUST GOT PAID over-raced when four-wide punching the breeze last start and did a good job to only be beaten 4L at the finish. He’ll enjoy a far more economical run in transit here and was beaten less than a length at this track/grade/distance two starts back. PEPPI GROVE is only 1 from 21 but was eye-catching first up at $101. She rocketed home from last to run a fast-finishing second and can position up closer from a better alley. YES MISS JANE was only a couple lengths off Albert and Mocha Dream in a 58+ last start. LA PATRONA joins her third stable in the space of five starts but trialled up nicely at Belmont recently. Numbers: 7 – 11 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – JUST GOT PAID WIN RACE 5 RUSSIAN SNIPER drops 6kg from his last-start win. Whilst he steps from a C1 to a 58+ and loses CJP, he was beaten <2.5L by Little Strawberry, Cut The Talk and Valency in Saturday grade earlier this prep and just needs to be kept out of trouble in order to run over the top of them with the flyweight. SIGNIFICANT HERO was solid first up at this track/grade/distance when fourth to the in-form Albert and subsequent winner Mocha Dream. He’s most effective when fresh. COMPAK went around at $21 last start but found the front and gave a lot of cheek with the blinkers back on. He’s drawn awkwardly but has the speed to be able to work across. Troy Turner rode STARTTHEFRIAR to victory in a Hannans Handicap 25 months ago and now rides him in a Geraldton 58+ with 58kg. 29 of his last 30 starts have been in higher grade. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – RUSSIAN SNIPER WIN RACE 6 MYSTIC LOVE drew wide at her first two runs back over 1200m and 1400m but was eye-catching on both occasions. She’s now third-up over her preferred mile, draws the inside and can be hard to hold out late if she sees daylight in the straight. ALBERT is hard to knock. He’s finished in the money at his past 6 starts which includes a winning hattrick. He’s never won past 1413m and will have to work to find the breeze but he was only beaten a nose when an unlucky second at this track/distance last prep. MOMBASA is still only a C1 but he profiles similarly to Mystic Love and will relish the step up in distance. KAZKAZI can be in the mix if he backs up off the 3-day turnaround from Saturday. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – MYSTIC LOVE WIN RACE 7 SAVAGE ONE ticks a lot of boxes. Has trialled brilliantly, is a city 72+ and two-time 66+ winner, loves Geraldton (6: 3-3-0), goes well first up (5: 1-2-2) and is the likely leader. Hard to run down. PATCHWORK has returned in super form and drops 4kg from his soft last-start win. He’s another track specialist and gets a significant 6.5kg pull on Savage One. CHIX CHATTER finished brilliantly to win first up in this grade. PASSPORT is getting close. Numbers: 1 – 12 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – SAVAGE ONE Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 7,8,9,10,11 5,6,7 1,4,5,8 1,12 Market Market
