Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 1, 2026September 1, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 STELLAR EDITION (7) returns off the back of a long time away, trial was very good in good time but does face a challenging draw, the market will tell a tail in this but I am expecting a powerful run. PAPPINBARRA LADY (1) was consistent for a period before breaking through and can attempt to string a couple together, has options and looks a decent chance. PLASTERED (10) has shown ability and is first up for the new camp, respect from the soft draw. THE FIRST CUT (8) was a good winner last time out and looks harder pressed from the draw with JACK CARROWACK (11) who has done well so far but some tricks are being added to his repertoire now. DOUGS LEGACY (5) might try and get forward in this, improving with every run. Tips: 7 1 10 5 Suggested Bet: STELLAR EDITION (7) to win. Race 2 MANUKA BAY (4) looks the leader and will be very hard to run down, impeccable front running type and will be hard to beat. PROPOSITION JOE (7) is a classy horse who will likely do the work and go well, they should fight it out. CINCH (3) will be improved with the first up run and is likely to give the race a Team Bond trifecta. CLOUD NINE (9) can make ground and get into a top 4 spot if he scores up, novelty chance with MAJOR MANHATTAN (5) and KINSAABI (10). Tips: 4 7 3 9 Suggested Bet: MANUKA BAY/PROPOSITION JOE to Quinella. Race 3 AMERICAN FALCON (9) returns in a suitable race and looks set to dominate but will be very short, should break through for his debut win in the West here. STRIKE MASTER (4) needs a bit of luck as always but will be running on. MACHANE SAID (3) should position close enough and is racing well enough to earn. ROCKABILITY (5) is speedy and might get forward and look to lead early, much better horse on the pegs. CHARLI BROWN (6) must be respected with IDONWANABEAPIRATE (10). Tips: 9 4 5 3 Suggested Bet: STRIKE MASTER (4) to place. Race 4 IM SPIDERMAN (1) is a good front running type and really hit the line strongly last time out, looks well placed to improve and could lead and give them something to chase down. KEEGAN BANNER (6) is a horse with good ability on return, tricky draw but will be thereabouts. TUBBS FARQUHAR (12) was a big run last time out, he races well on speed but will be running on in this. MARTYR (10) trialled better and could improve from the soft draw. GET YA BETS ON (5) can be a bit wayward early but is ready to run a big race. MIGHTY MAGICIAN (8) has showed promise this time in but faces a challenging task from the draw. TRUE GRIT (11) always thereabouts. Tips: 1 12 6 10 Suggested Bet: IM SPIDERMAN (1) each way. Race 5 ALCOPONY (11) is ready to win, he was driven outside of his comfort zone last start and not surprisingly got tired, prior to that his form has been solid and I think he will go very close in this, suitable grade. GETN WIGGY WITHIT (2) needs to step safely but strips fitter for the first up win and can play a significant role in this. ROCK ME OVER (6) is suited in this grade and whenever he gets down into this level, he can be put into it and stick on strongly. BEAT THE BANK (8) is rarely far away, will look dangerous at some stage with the returning VINITA ROSE (10) who is a work horse, will be one to follow out of this event. Novelty chances to POCKET THE CHANGE (1), BRONZED (5), FEELING ACES (7) and MY ULTIMATE CHEVRON (9). Tips: 11 6 8 2 Suggested Bet: ALCOPONY (11) to win. Race 6 CHIEF COPY (2) was horribly unlucky last time out and has drawn to be close enough, suited to the middle distance as opposed to some in this and maps well, looks hard to hold out. JORDANO (1) looks a strong chance and should lead but would prefer him at the shorter trip. DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (9) is mixing his form but his run two starts ago was solid, will be running on. SHES MY LITTLE GEM (10) nicely drawn and follows speed in this grade well. BETTOR BE BUCKS (3) is consistent and a novelty chance with DAMAGE DONE (6) and FIORD (7). Tips: 2 9 1 10 Suggested Bet: CHIEF COPY (2) to win. Race 7 Open race. OURFIRSTIMPRESSION (5) could charge forward looking for the top and will run well in this grade if leading. BEALAWYER (8) is not far away in this grade, he will likely head forward and want to be on speed, go well in this. AXLE ROCKS (1) with a run under his belt could be dangerous but he might need this, still a novelty chance. BLIND EDITION (3) is racing in better form now and can be around the place but doesn’t win out of turn. NINETY MILE BEACH (7) is ready to win but is still learning and can be temperamental. ZUEDE (11) will run on in his usual fashion. Tips: 8 4 1 3 Suggested Bet: BEALAWYER (8) each way. Race 8 LADY OF LEITH (5) could ping across and lead in this, mile suits and against maiden company suits also, with the benefit of reading this later whatever Axle Rocks does in the previous could give a good understanding of how forward this mare is. BATAVIA JEWEL (1) trialled up better and could be a solid chance off the back of that but prior trial form and only race run doesn’t get me too excited at this stage, looks an improver. THUNDER WARRIOR (8) is knocking on the door, and the high speed is good enough to bring him right into it. BONPOPPY (9) returns and faces a wide draw but is suited here. ALTA GABBANA (4) and CAPPY THE FIREY (6) always around the mark. Tips: 5 1 8 9 Suggested Bet: LADY OF LEITH (5) to win. Market Market
