Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 5, 2026May 5, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Hard to work this one out as there looks to be enough pressure in the run to bring back markers into it. OUR SERAPHINA (11) has drawn to follow through well and could be sharp in a fresh run, expecting her to get home well. CIGANDA (10) is suited to this grade but faces a tricky draw given she is following out a moderate beginner. AMERICAN TYPHOON (3) is a winning chance if she can get to the top, BONSTAR (2) will be kicking up but is only racing sound now. STIRUP IRON JACK (6) can do work in his races and will head forward, distance and class suit him to run well. SNAKEY BAY (12) will be running on strongly. Tips: 11 6 10 3 Suggested Bet: STIRUP IRON JACK (6) each way. Race 2 Another tricky one. GALVINSTON JOHN (6) will be heading forward hard and can get keen, therefore I think there will be a genuine tempo, he is a winning chance if he can lead but some resistance inside including PHILTHEJUG (4) who will strip fitter for the last effort. SONIC CHIP (7) will be looking for a forward position, but map looks a bit tricky. CHIEF COPY (11) is ready to run well and will get a good look at them late and same story for VISITING HOURS (12) and CRUNCH THE NUMBERS (10) who was driven soft first up and caught the eye, needs a touch of luck but will run on. HOOAH (9) is showing promise for the new stable but has drawn the river and is one to follow going forward. Tips: 11 12 10 6 Suggested Bet: CHIEF COPY (11) each way. Race 3 MYSTA MOON WALKER (12) has had enough runs to show his best now, looks a solid chance in this as it looks to be a drop in grade and will run well for mine. SALSAWITHSIERRA (11) will be driven for one run and has a lot of high speed but can get a bit fiery and do prefer her at shorter trips. VINNIES STAR (1) gets the draw to run a better race and will look to hold up here. EN PARIANT SUR (2), OUR MAJOR JACK (3) and DOUGS LEGACY (5) all racing soundly for this. SPORTING GRACE (4) racing well but is another that I prefer at a shorter trip. BLITZAR (8) needs some luck from the draw but is ready to win. Tips: 12 11 1 8 Suggested Bet: MYSTA MOON WALKER (12) to win. Race 4 TRUE GRIT (1) did it at both ends on Friday and was a solid effort and is a good front running type and Kylah Madden has driven this gelding to victory before so there is experience and confidence there too. WICKED HUSTLER (12) will follow through and can run home well, looks a decent improving chance, his best is good enough. ON THE BACK FOOT (2) is racing nicely and drawn in close, could get a soft run and be there abouts, MAJOR MANHATTAN (10) is a solid novelty chance if he can hold the back of the pole marker. LORD PUBLISHER (11) has had a few chances recently to break through but can fill a place no worries. Tips: 1 12 2 10 Suggested Bet: TRUE GRIT (1) to win. Race 5 RUMBLE STRIP (8) looks much better suited here second up in class and in fitness, expect a sharp improvement and see this talented type back into the winners list. UP AND ALIVE (2) was a good win last start and will give them something to catch in front again. SHES A TINY DANCER (1) will get the perfect run and will be better for the first run from a freshen up. FLYING FELIX (3) is always a novelty chance with OUR RICH CARGO (6) who faces a tricky draw. HOLD THE AMMO (10) is capable but not setting the world on fire since returning but must include into back end of novelties by virtue of the draw. Tips: 8 2 1 3 Suggested Bet: RUMBLE STRIP/UP AND ALIVE to Exacta. Race 6 ARISTA (9) looks set to dominate in this, reads up well but is going to be rock bottom odds, should be winning. DAWSON SHARD (5) gets back into the draw but has been racing well to get into the money and with a safe getaway I think he can run top 3. CANELO (4) will be better for the first up run and wasn’t a bad effort, respect here. ARISE LAZARUS (8) didn’t have much luck at Bunbury and prior form had been solid. NINETY MILE BEACH (10) might not feature here but think he’s improving with every trial and now race and could be one to follow going forward. Tips: 9 5 8 4 Suggested Bet: DAWSON SHARD (5) to place. Race 7 QUEEN OF ALL (8) was a good effort last run and should be reaching back to peak fitness and looks a strong chance to break through in this. MARGIMAC (11) didn’t have much luck last time out and has come back well and can feature in this. PAPPINBARRA LADY (1) was close to breaking through and gate speed is improving, ticking a few boxes to go well again. LADY OF LEITH (5) is a winning chance if she could cross and it’s a decent chance to happen with mixed speed underneath. PURELY PANDEMIC (9) will be running on. Tips: 8 11 1 5 Suggested Bet: QUEEN OF ALL (8) to win. Race 8 KATAMA (4) trialled well and looks hard to beat in this Young v Bond event to close out the program. TRIXIE DORA (3) is racing well, and I think would nearly win if she could lead but her gate speed is a big query, should run well either way. BROOKLANDS LAST (2) will get the perfect run and is a decent place chance, was better again last time out. CRUNCHNSIP (6) and COCOBOLO (5) have shown promise with the former looking the better chance of the two. CEASE TO REACT (8) is capable of better but drawn poorly again. Tips: 4 3 2 6 Suggested Bet: KATAMA/TRIXIE DORA to Quinella. Market Market
