Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 7, 2025January 7, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Happy to play a bit wider in this race. CHIEF COPY (12) is coming out of racing stronger opposition and goes around an each way price, think the horse has ability and should run well. BACK ON LINE (9) is improving nicely and will need to lift again to overcome the wide draw. THE KHUKRI (8) and LUCKY COPY (4) both 3-year-olds taking on older opposition, both come in with claims. LEEROY ROX (11) is in that category also and represents novelty value. Tips: 12 9 8 4 Suggested Bet: CHIEF COPY (12) each way. Race 2 TAKE A HIKE (6) was solid in his WA debut and has some good early speed, if he was able to cross, I would expect him to go very close. DON’T GOIN THEWATER (3) has some early speed and cross to the pegs and has options in this. STRIKE MASTER (12) will run his usual race and likely to finish strongly. SPINNER OF YARNS (7) and BEALAWYER (5) both novelty chances with the former being a winning chance at odds. Tips: 6 12 3 7 Suggested Bet: TAKE A HIKE (6) to win. Race 3 TUMBLIN DICE (5) has plenty of early speed and has been racing against stronger fields, go well here. HAVEYOUMETTED (8) will have to overcome a wide draw but has been in good form recently. TORREVEAN AMY (4) finds a suitable race to improve, she should be reaching peak fitness. SOHO GIGOLO (6), SIDSTREPO (10) and ACOLTNAMEDSU (9) are all place hopes in this event. Tips: 5 8 4 6 Suggested Bet: TUMBLIN DICE (5) to win Race 4 FAT LOUIE (6) has been racing in top form, he burnt the candle at both ends last week and was grabbed right on the line, has the versatility to overcome the awkward draw. THE VAN GOGH CAMEL (8) has come back in top form, wide draw to overcome but expecting him to close off well with GREATGREAT BOULDER (9) who has the ability but also a few tricks and is first up tonight. SWEET VIVIENNE (1) returns and has the nice draw, might need this run. UNDER THE ALTA (2) has been racing well, novelty chance. CHAMBRAY (3) also comes into novelty play. Tips: 6 8 9 2 Suggested Bet: FAT LOUIE (6) to win. Race 5 IM SPIDERMAN (2) is racing well and looks to have the speed to lead and if he does find the top, he will go very close to winning again. THE LIGHTNING STRIKE (1) lacks a little bit of early dash but has been racing soundly, novelty chance. JAXON MORGAN (8) has ability and can overcome the draw and be involved at the pointy end of the placings. MISTER LINTON (4) returns and draw suits to see him earn. LORD PUBLISHER (5) has returned in top form and should be kept safe. MAJOR OVERS (6) is mixing his form and PRIME MOVER (7) will find this a lot more challenging. Tips: 2 8 1 4 Suggested Bet: IM SPIDERMAN (2) to win. Race 6 DRIVE LINE (9) has been racing well and continues to improve, has shown the versatility required to overcome the draw. CRETACEOUS (8) is showing good promise and continues to improve. CHARLI BROWN (4) has high speed and should be kept safe. KINSAABI (3) is racing in decent form and looms as a novelty chance. FOLLOW YOUR MOTHER (1) has a nice draw and will settle close enough. Tips: 9 8 4 3 Suggested Bet: DRIVE LINE (9) to win. Race 7 Good race to finish. THELITTLE MASTER (6) has returned to his better form, and this will be a good test to see where he is at. THENU CAME ALONG (8) is in fine form and can overcome the draw. JASPERVELLABEACH (3) gets into this race well after racing in much stronger metropolitan form, he will give a tonne of cheek if he can lead. IM LIGHTNING BANNER (5) has come back strongly after a freshen up, capable of going back-to-back. Others are novelty chance hopes at best. Tips: 6 3 5 8 Suggested Bet: THELITTLE MASTER (6) to win.
