Matt Young’s Saturday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 11, 2025December 12, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 GALVINSTON JOHN (10) caught the eye last time out and there looks to be some questions asked in the early stages on the lead which could suit him nicely from the back row, should pick and choose and swoop and be dangerous. DON’T GOIN THEWATER (5) is a chips in, should push the button and try to lead, becomes a strong chance if able to cross. SHES MY LITTLE GEM (2) is racing soundly in this grade and wasn’t a bad effort last run, should be close enough. HUGHEY (9) must overcome the wide draw, but last run was solid, novelty chance along with FIREBALL FRIDAY (3), THE MERCENARY (5) and VELVET SHADOW (6). Tips: 10 5 2 9 Suggested Bet: GALVINSTON JOHN (10) each way. Race 2 ADMIRAL DARCY (3) has been luckless in recent runs and looks ready to run a big race, he is normally driven conservatively, and this will no doubt not be any different, but I think he will be close enough and be dangerous. COVERNOTE (7) has been unplaced in all 10 starts this season but this is the easiest race he’s contested and expecting a bold run from him. BETTOR MOVE ALONG (9) is not at his best but can improve in this. PACIFIC EAGLE (1) is a novelty chance with GOODONYA MATE (5). Tips: 3 7 9 1 Suggested Bet: ADMIRAL DARCY (3) each way. Race 3 CULLEN STAR (10) was a big run last start after running into bother in the early stages, made a heap of ground up and hit the line well, he will go very close with any normal racing luck. ADDA PARIS (2) comes in relatively fresh but has the speed to lead and could give them something to catch. STELLA MAJOR (1) was a winner last run but led up two starts ago and looked a bit lost in front, think they’ll take the cover and hope for the run late. RAMBO RABBIT (4) racing soundly but may have to some work in this with LETS ROCK TONIGHT (9) who is capable. TUMBLIN DICE (8) likely to need the run. Tips: 10 2 1 9 Suggested Bet: CULLEN STAR (10) to win. Race 4 BET ON THE RIVER (3) has good early speed and looks the likely leader here and has options from there, should run a big race in this. THE WILDCARD (7) will be flying out, and he is hard to run down if he was able to cross, nice win on debut for the new stable. MORE SASS (1) has turned a corner but showing more when driven softly, should settle close enough to earn again. MASTER LEIGHTON (6) was solid on return and can go on with it from there, looks an each way chance. RAKERO RAIDER (9) will be running on but the draw hurts. JOEY JAMES (10) a novelty chance from the draw. Competitive race. Tips: 3 7 6 1 Suggested Bet: BET ON THE RIVER (3) each way. Race 5 ROCKSTAR QUALITY (12) was driven positively last run, and it unraveled in the concluding stages, this grade looks more suitable, and the effort shown two starts ago gives me confidence he is the one to hold out. ARUM (9) is racing well but draw really brings him back to the pack in this. DOUBLE THE ANTE (11) is a nice type on return, might need the run but is capable. THE PROTOTYPE (1) is a novelty chance again, getting closer to breaking through. EASTERN ADVANCE (8) can mix his form, grade suits but the draw doesn’t and IDONTWANABEAPIRATE (5) is a forgive last run but racing well prior, novelty chance. Tips: 12 9 11 1 Suggested Bet: ROCKSTAR QUALITY (12) to win. Race 6 OUR SERAPHINA (3) has the draw advantage and some early speed and looks the likely leader here and will be hard to beat. PRINCESS AVIATOR (5) was good last time out and did the work, she will be right in the thick of it again. THREE FLAMES (10) needs some luck from the draw but is racing soundly, she has had a few chances. SPLASH OF CASH (11) had no luck last run but was driven like the connections think there is ability there so keep safe in this. ELWADDELS SISTER (7) has a wide gate but has won her most recent two trials, novelty chance. Tips: 3 5 10 11 Suggested Bet: OUR SERAPHINA (3) to win. Race 7 Cracking contest here. CAPTAINSHAVTIME (8) comes in fresh but has good ability and depth and appears hard to beat here, she has been one of the benchmark fillies this season for Team Bond and the stablemate has claims too in WHEN IN VEGAS (6) who has continued to step up with good efforts and adding depth every time he steps out. CAPTAINS CREEK (4) is the third of the Team Bond runners and was very good last time out, likely heads forward again and a good chance to lead and set the tempo. WAVE REBLLION (3) was poor last time out but previous two wins were brilliant, she can bounce back and the draw should see her close enough. COMO EL VIENTO (9) is racing well but will need to close off like he has been from the wide gate again and OUR RICH CARGO (7) is at the top of her game. Tips: 8 6 4 3 Suggested Bet: CAPTAINSHAVTIME (8) to win. Race 8 CHEFS KISS (7) ran into bother last time out but was a big effort to make up the ground and still hit the line well, expecting her to run a big race here and field is competitive enough to suggest her sprinting over the top. HE IS TALKING (3) was nice on return and has the draw advantage, expecting a bold run here. SHIMMERING (4) looks a nice type and showed last start she’s got plenty of early speed. CEASE TO REACT (8) goes to the toughest draw but has the versatility to be put into the event. NITE SNIPER (6) is speedy and could have a look and VIVA LOST WAGES (5) has shown some promise but more of a place chance in this. Tips: 7 3 8 4 Suggested Bet: CHEFS KISS (7) to win. Market Market
