Matt Young’s Friday Wagin Preview Posted on November 27, 2025November 28, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 ALFA JESS (4) has good early speed and looks likely to run to the lead and from that position I think she can get the win here, should keep the fancies chasing throughout. GAMETIME (6) defied the map to win narrowly last time out, may have to do it from the breeze again tonight. BUT JOE (5) has good early speed but had his chance last time out when run down when leading, won’t be too far away. PRINCE OF TRIBECA (9) is fitter and should be running home well, first up run was sound at Collie. LUCK FROM ABOVE (3) is improving but still has his moments and THE KHUKRI (7) is a novelty chance. Tips: 4 6 5 9 Suggested Bet: ALFA JESS (4) to win. Race 2 OFFICAL ROCK (8) is racing with incredible zest and should settle close enough to them to let down her sprint and be hard to hold out, she was luckless last run but her last 4 runs have all been first class. THE BETTOR SIDE (10) is second up and was a winner on return, he can do some work in his races and deserves to be favourite because of that, will be in the thick of it. PIPERS PARADE (7) is suited by the class, but the draw looks a touch awkward. CASSINI BELLE (2) and ROCKY MAGUIRE (5) will both be on speed and can run into the novelties. Tips: 8 10 7 2 Suggested Bet: OFFICAL ROCK (8)/THE BETTOR SIDE (10) to quinella. Race 3 MY GRAND ANGUS (4) has lifted in recent runs and has a few strings to his bow, can watch things unfold and assume control in the breeze, should run a big race here. JOHNNY LOMBO (2) was better last time out and will be aiming for the top and would give them something to catch if he could lead. EASTON QUALITY (3) will have ideas on that same position and is racing soundly enough. GOTA GOOD WARHOL (10) rarely runs a bad race and can be put into it in the final circuit. SUNDANCER RAINBOW (8) will be running on, just needs to be cuddled up and some tempo to suit her. SMOKEYS SHADOW (5) and VINTAGE BLU (9) are both capable, but form is not at their best. Tips: 4 2 3 10 Suggested Bet: MY GRAND ANGUS (4) each way. Race 4 BE HOME SOON (2) put the writing on the wall two starts ago that he was ready to run a big race, he went to Pinjarra against a decent field and weakened late, this looks more suitable to him and he has a good draw, expecting him to run well. IM ROCKIN ROD (9) has good closing speed and although I prefer him on speed, in this race I think he will get home strongly. RAMBO RABBIT (8) was a big winner last time out, prior form had been mixed with his better form recently been from standing starts. CODENAME ELLIOT (3) has recently improved and is showing better gate speed, he is not without a chance with DEE JAYS BIG BOY (5) and GOODONYA MATE (7) is a major player with even luck but not sure whether that luck will come. Tips: 2 9 8 5 Suggested Bet: BE HOME SOON (2) each way. Race 5 ALEXANDRA THEGREAT (2) gets the good draw with the scratching and has the speed to lead and expecting her to run a big race here, her form has been with some excuses in recent runs and could see her bounce right back. THE RIGHTEOUS (7) becomes a genuine threat as he should be leaders back and if the gaps come, he is racing well enough. BETTERTHAN SECRET (6) has returned to her better form and has a lot of high speed, but the draw and map could be tricky for her and stablemate TUBBS FARQUHAR (5) who I’d prefer to see in front but don’t think that will happen for him. AMERICAN MONARCH (9) will be running on; her best is good enough to contend. Tips: 2 7 6 5 Suggested Bet: ALEXANDRA THEGREAT (2) each way. Race 6 STRAUNYS SISTER (10) had no luck last time out in the early stages and went back to last and then nearly went coast to coast for victory, this grade is similar, and the draw suggests she’ll settle back and the confidence will be there to cut her loose and think she can get a well-deserved win. SNAKEY BAY (4) looks a strong chance to cross, and she will give them something to catch in this. CINDYS SECRET (6) has been consistent, but the draw is more challenging here and that also describes INTERNAL WAVES (9). WELLOILED (5) is capable but needs some luck, weakened after breezing last time out so they’ll prefer to not be in that position tonight. BOUNCE BACK BUDDY (7) has a bit of high speed and should be respected for the novelties. Tips: 10 4 6 5 Suggested Bet: STRAUNYS SISTER (10) to win. Race 7 Open race to finish. IDEAL WHITBY (7) has the soft draw following out the horse that I think will try and lead and then with normal luck I think he becomes a significant player. THEJEWELINHEREYE (3) drops in grade but concerned about her map, this looks suitable on class but not sure she can lead, will be in the first few and run a bold race. SWANBOURNE SPUNK (6) can run into the money, just needs the tempo to suit him. NEVERTELLMETHEODDS (1) looks the likely leader, but he can mix his form. BLIND EDITION (4) is a tricky horse to catch; he was solid two starts ago. ELEPHANT ROCK (5) racing well and shouldn’t be too far away. HEAVENLY BLISS (9) has done some racing recently and last couple have been below her best which is a concerning trend. Tips: 7 3 6 5 Suggested Bet: IDEAL WHITBY (7) each way. Market Market
