Matt Young’s Friday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 5, 2026March 5, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 VINTAGE BLU (8) profiles well for this, he can be put into the race that lacks overall depth, from the wide gate he can find a position early and be driven to the pace of the race and think he will be the hardest to hold out. REDDY TO FLY (1) has the nice draw and has good early speed, looks the likely leader and will take some catching. HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (9) must overcome the outside draw, but this class is suitable to his current form. ZUEDE (2) drawn to get a cozy run. GET YA BETS ON (5) is not at his best but can improve in this grade, smaller field suits for him to run home. BEYOND BLING (7) not at his best but will be running on. Tips: 8 1 5 9 Suggested Bet: VINTAGE BLU (8) to win. Race 2 VINITA ROSE (8) is a forgive last time out but prior to that she was a big run in defeat against Spitfire who would be a major player in this, I think Aldo Cortopassi will be aggressive at the start and push forward hard looking for the top and if she can get to the lead, she will take some running down. COMO EL VIENTO (9) is the obvious selection, his form has been first class, and he smashed them in the Williams Cup, he is versatile and can watch things unfold early. They look the two winning chances. Novelty chances to MISTER KOPA (5), MISS UNEEK (7), GOTA GOOD WARHOL (11) and MIKIPELO (12), I also like TUMBLIN DICE (10) as a horse but can see some traffic problems for him. Tips: 8 9 5 7 Suggested Bet: VINITA ROSE (8) each way. Race 3 RESET THE BAR (12) was a powerful win last time out and that was after being burnt at the start and still finished off strongly, looks like he has depth and strings to his bow, appears hardest to beat here. FLYING RUMOUR (1) would give a bold sight at his better form but he hasn’t been at his top for a while, has options from the draw. RAKERO RAIDER (7) was brave last time out, nothing went right and he will need some luck from the draw but think he is a podium chance in this. ECLIPSE LINE (4) back to a mobile but has been racing well in the stands. MANHATTAN MOON (10) will be running on if the gaps open up, he is ready to win. Tips: 12 7 10 4 Suggested Bet: RESET THE BAR (12) to win. Race 4 Good competitive race upcoming here. MINOS (6) is in top form and just continues to get better, looks set to do some work and be hard to hold out in this and continue his climb through the grades. PETES HONOUR (5) has been flying and has the draw advantage, could potentially find his way to the top with the outside pressure and he’ll be hard to get past again. WHOS THE DAD (1) has options, his form has been decent but might go the conservative approach in this grade. STAR CASINO (9) is flying, didn’t get out until late but hit the line strongly in the Pinjarra Cup and his form prior had been first class, he can win this, but the map looks tricky for him. TUALOU (10) needs some luck but returned well and his stable comrade THELITTLE MASTER (11) will benefit from a genuine tempo and looks a winning chance with even luck. Tips: 6 5 9 11 Suggested Bet: MINOS (6) to win. Race 5 PENNY BLACK (8) won well on return and that should tighten the screws even more going forward, she can be driven like the best horse, and she is one that thrives on the hard work in races, looks very hard to beat. LITTLE DARLING (9) didn’t have the best of luck last time out and still closed off strongly, draw dictates that she may be needing luck to turn the tables on PENNY BLACK (8) here. HUNGER STRIKE (3) comes in fresh but has just kept improving through the preparation, she has good early speed and looks a chance to lead and will have options from there. WATER LOU (12) hit the line well first up and can see her driven in a similar manner and running on again. SUGAR DELIGHT (4), ALTA ALLURE (5), MADAM PUBLISHER (6) and STARLIGHT DREAM (10) all novelty chances. Tips: 8 9 3 6 Suggested Bet: PENNY BLACK (8) to win. Race 6 LINCOLN RIVER (9) had a breakout victory last time out and was devastating in a margin job victory, looks hard to beat again here but may have be driven in a watch and act style drive with a bit happening underneath. SPYGLASS (6) and CHIVALRY (7) are both strong types who are likely to be driven forward and think they will both be in the money with a slight leaning toward SPYGLASS (6) because of the barrier advantage. MY COPY (1) is a novelty chance with MAJOR FREEWAY (2) and MISTER PICCOLO (3). Tips: 9 6 7 1 Suggested Bet: SPYGLASS (6) each way. Race 7 LINCOLN LOU (6) showed immense promise last time in and looked to be a true talent but didn’t produce it consistently on race day, he has trialled up nicely for his campaign and this looks a wonderful starting point for him, expect him to work forward and find the top and justify the short quote. BLUE BLAZER (4) has good early speed and could look for cover on the back of the favourite and be a good place chance. SPUDMEISTER (1) has the speed to be handy and comes in with novelty claims. CEE DEE THREE (7) suited in this grade and small field suits him but tempo could make it hard if he is coming from back in the field. BEAT THE BANK (3) never far away and BURGHLEY SHARD (8) drawn poorly. Tips: 6 4 7 1 Suggested Bet: BLUE BLAZER (4) to place. Race 8 Open race to finish. XCITE ME (5) has a few ways she could go about victory in this and her high speed can be called upon when needed and she will be hard to beat. GREGARMY (1) trialled up well and hit the line nicely, he is a talented type with the good draw and will be close enough in the run to be cheeky. WALL STREET GIRL (8) is up to these at her best, she can be a hard to catch though. GREVIS (6) needs things to go his way. ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (2) and SUGAR STREET (3) both novelty chances from their draws. Tips: 5 1 8 2 Suggested Bet: GREGARMY (1) each way.. Market Market
