Race 1

BETTORS PRIDE (8) has good gate speed and could try and burn across to lead and slingshot from the outside draw, appears hard to beat if he can hit the rail which is a real possibility in my eyes. ULTIMATE MIKI (11) is racing well and just kept finding last time out and ended up pulling away from the late strongly, will have to do the work at some stage in the race. DARK EYES (2) is racing well and has early speed to potentially get to the pegs first and be able to be close enough. LOCH TAY (1) a novelty chance from the ideal draw but this is a stronger race. Tricky draw for A LITTLE SILENCE (5) and HALE SAINT LOUIE (4) has had a month between runs.

Suggested Bet: BETTORS PRIDE (8) to win.

Race 2

CAPTAINSHAVTIME (7) has that good early speed and looks a major player to get across them at the start and if she does find the top, she will be very hard to beat. COPY CAT QUEEN (8) was outstanding in her recent runs and is developing more depth and looks a strong chance again with her versatility. FAKENIT (5) would win if she could hold the challengers out wider early, tough mare who will run a big race. ALTA ALLURE (6) needs a touch of luck from the draw but is racing better than form reads, AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (9) will be running on, she is consistent but drawn tough again. STARLIGHT DREAM (10) always a novelty chance.

Suggested Bet: CAPTAINSHAVTIME (7) each way.

Race 3

BROUGHT TO LIGHT (3) continues to improve with every run this time in and was a good effort on his most recent run and looks to keep the advantage and be very hard to beat in this. SPITFIRE (8) will push forward and is ready to run a big race, will be hard to hold out. OPAL HUNTER (7) has been luckless in recent runs and looks a decent chance with his early speed to bounce on the pace early. UP AND ALIVE (1) is up in grade but ideally drawn and becomes a novelty chance with KINKY (5), WHEN IN VEGAS (6) and SUN PUBLISHER (10).

Suggested Bet: BROUGHT TO LIGHT (3) to win.

Race 4

GEE HEZA SPORT (8) threw it away when looking to be home for the Narrogin Cup, expect him to be sharper for this and can bounce back to the winners list. YOURE SO FINE (9) was brilliant on return and must overcome a wide draw but is fitter and capable of stepping up. MENEMSHA (12) is versatile and just needs a genuine tempo and that looks likely in this. SWEET PINS (5) steps up and will run on well with a soft run. MAXIMUM ROCK (11) and IM LIGHTNING BANNER (10) both be running home.

Suggested Bet: GEE HEZA SPORT (8) to win.

Race 5

AMERICAN MACHINE (3) looks a strong chance to run to the lead and dominate here, he has been performing well from ordinary draws and looks above average, think he will lead and win personally. AMALFI KNIGHT (5) is building toughness and has a lot of high speed; this will be a good test but is highly talented. CHUGACH (9) has been low flying but faces the river draw, has some early speed if they roll the dice but looks a low percentage move if it doesn’t pay off and he is versatile. PARAGLIDER (1) is a novelty chance from the perfect draw with BETTOR BEHAVE (7), IDEAL AN ACE (10), GENTLEMANS PROMISE (11) and CEASE TO REACT (12).

Suggested Bet: AMERICAN MACHINE (3) to win.

Race 6

MISS LEOPATRA (3) is a highly talented filly who continues to build through the preparation, and I am very keen with her winning this even from the breeze, think she will stamp her authority in this race. SOVEREIGN JEWEL (1) has always shown promise and is building consistency and strength, this will be a good test for her and has the draw to lead and be given her chance. CRUNCHNSIP (10) will be hoping that they overdo it and she can get out and run home, racing well. IM CATEGORY FIVE (9) has got a difficult draw to overcome; she has speed early but can get keen so the map looks tricky for her in this. Novelty chances to MISS BEJEWLED (5), SLAY QUEEN (6) and ALTAS LAST (12).

Suggested Bet: MISS LEOPATRA (3) to win.

Race 7

RUMBLE STRIP (6) has the draw advantage and is building into his preparation nicely, was a soft winner last time out and has exceptional strength, looks hard to beat in this again. Liked the run of DOUBLE PARKED (8) on debut in the west and looks to run a bold race in this, keep him safe. LILLIE QUEEN (1) has the draw to lead and can be placed; think they’ll take a more conservative approach after being run down when leading last time out. BETTOR ARCADE (12) will be running on strongly, highly consistent. Novelty chances to ROX THE WORLD (3), THE SWINDLER (10) and SAIFA (11).

Suggested Bet: BETTOR ARCADE (12) to place.

Race 8

Open race. CODENAME MARCUS (9) will be better for the first up effort and although he has drawn wide, he will be running home strongly and can be put into it a touch earlier in this, expecting a big run from him. HOLD THE AMMO (1) yet to fire this time in but has the draw and could be a significant improver. FINAL COLLECT (6) will hold market share more so due to the trainer/driver combination, form overall has been quite disappointing but it’s a suitable grade to see him improve. KURIOUS BOY (7) was encouraging last time out but faces a challenging draw. Novelty chances to STATE MY CASE (3), SOUND WAVE (10) and LOUIE LEBEAU (12).

Tips: 9 1 6 10

Suggested Bet: CODENAME MARCUS (9) each way.

Race 9

STORMY VISTA (12) trialled well and was a gutsy effort in that trial, solid last mile and looks hard to beat on debut in the west even from the back row. IM MASSIMO (9) has won 3 from 9 and looks to have good ability, comes in first up with Justin Prentice and must be respected. IL BANDITO (1) has the speed to lead early but was run down again when leading last time out and they may go the more conservative approach here which gives him a novelty chance with TAKE A HIKE (2) who could be cheeky if he runs to the lead early. Novelty chances to BLITZAR (6) and MANEA (4).

Tips: 12 9 2 6

Suggested Bet: STORMY VISTA (12) to win.

Race 10

HAVEYOUMETTED (1) gets the draw and as a rule is a quick beginner, last time he drew to lead he did things wrong which may see him face some challenges early but if he does hold up, he will be hard to run down. UNDER THE ALTA (9) will be pushing to the breeze and has really elevated with Bill Whyte in recent form and is back to his best. ME FLASH (8) was a great effort last time out but faces a difficult draw and can mix his speed early. Novelty chances to YA BETTOR FOLLOWME (2), KEPTAIN COURAGEOUS (10) and BY GEE BY JINGO (6).
