Harry Buchanan’s Thursday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on July 13, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch NORTHAM Race 3 No. 3 Piper Spolly Gets in well against these and her best step will see her go for the arm and be very hard to catch. 3 time winner track and trip and will give a sight if she hops out fast. Race 4 No. 3 Venetian Has taken to Northam well. Ran down Pyroclasm two starts back then copped some trouble last time before again making strong ground in the run home. Draw is fine and just needs to settle more forward again to be there at the end. Race 5 No. 6 Step Back Three Disappointed badly last time after a super effort prior. Prepared to give one more chance here and she’s much better than what she showed last time. Not many strong dogs in this so a clean step to muster up should see her hit the line and finish top 2 if she turns up this week. Race 6 No. 9 Kingsbrae Huxley Old mate again at astronomical odds. A few arm dogs in this could see first turn trouble again and his run wasn’t that bad the other day when a dog came back in his lap. Clearer run this time and he can surprise place heavy. Don’t be too quickly to dismiss him. Race 10 No. 2 Incredible Solo and No. 8 Bazinga Boy The 2 back to Northam key here. Made a good early race run at Cannington after leading but got lost and then tired in the run home in much harder company. Will improve a stack here. The 8 is an old fav who will muster fast out wide and if he gets over cleanly, he sticks on all day and can bother these out of it. Don’t ignore him. He likes it here. Race 11 No. 3 Princess Emmy and No. 5 Dozer Can Browse The 3 won well last start and I felt her effort was quite good despite the steady time. She stepped well and held a spot then came right away at the end and some improvement should be forthcoming. The 5 will show some pace again and while she probably should have done a little more at box rise, she made up for it when getting close at the end and she does go better when she can lead. Keep her in mind. Race 12 No. 8 Barefoot Wah Wah and No. 2 Illusive Mac Thought the 8 would show more early last week at Cannington. Prepared to give her another go back at Northam with the longer back straight and chance to use her good muster. If she leads she wins this easily. The 2 never wins. However she keeps stepping quickly and her it’s her diminutive size that brings her undone. If she could find the lead she would go close to breaking through but we want a price and a big one. SANDOWN PARK Race 1 No. 5 Dewanna Payout and No. 3 Denison Frisby Big runs from these two last week. The 5 was a huge run and only has to offset the box early here and he can run home very hard. Similarly with the 3 who made a fast mid race move to run 2nd in the same race. Both doubles here and can stun these and at least worth a place heavy play. Race 2 No. 5 Adhana Rico and No. 6 Lederhosen Boy The 5 returns from some very stiff runs in Qld and will prove hard to beat here if he steps. Rarely out of the money here and can run time. The 6 is capable and we have followed him a while. He needs to get into it early and he has a big middle section that can set up a frame finish here. Good odds play. Race 3 No. 3 Akina Jack and No. 2 Miss Scotch Less The 3 gets in very well for a dog who has competed in FFA class here. Initially looked disappointing last week but he was first up for 2 months so a stack of fitness and improvement to come here. The 2 has a lot of talent but she’s a little awkward and can find trouble. Makes fast runs through her races and can hit the frame here. Place heavy there. Race 9 No. 2 Boston Garden He looks very well in here considering he’s been racing better dogs for some time. Rarely misses the frame here and the class drop alone makes him very hard to beat with a clear run which he should obtain. Clear danger to this fav and a big one at that. Market Market
