Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on February 24, 2024 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 4 No. 3 Carter Axelrod A good EW chance if he can miss the 4 early. Top run last time and is ready to go well. Race 5 No. 4 Andre Bale and No. 7 Harley Monelli The 4 first up in WA. Very good dog over sprint and middle trips. Ready for first up assault. The 7 disappointed last week but back here will see her go better. Race 6 No. 3 Ghost Emoji and No. 4 Sunset Frazier The Puppy Classic final. The 3 is the fastest dog in this in my opinion. Forget his heat run, he will improve big time with a clear run. The 4 with dazzling sectionals should lead and be hard to catch yet again. Chances to 2,6 and 5 who can all perform with clear runs and run time. The 8 unlikely to get across and lead. The 7 improves but draw is sticky. The 1…well no. 3-4-6 in this year’s classic. Race 10 No. 8 Rhino Bale and No. 6 Savic Both outstanding runs last time. The 8 was superb and keeps getting better. The 1 will relish the step up in trip and is going well without winning. Race 11 No. 7 Sunset Louie Only needs to find the fence early and get in front of the 2. The rest will play road blocks for these two. The 7 the more tactical stayer and goes close here with first turn luck. Race 12 No. 7 Girl Hill Superb run first up at the this trip last week. Only improves and well boxed here. Genuine top two show. Race 13 No. 1 Shy Emoji and No. 6 Vander Harley The 1 has her box and will look for the first turn to open up. Strong home and can win this. The 6 racing well and only has to offset the draw again and she will be a major threat. WENTWORTH PARK Race 3 No. 2 War Hawk Comes out of a tough Gold Cup heat. Has won here and terrific strike rate. Well boxed. Race 4 No. 3 Emgrand Centre Keeps hitting the frame around here. Gets a good map this week and will go close if he holds his spot early. Race 6 No. 1 Energizer Miss Lacks dash but raced much better dogs and keeps coming. Won’t get so far back here and strong home. THE MEADOWS Australian Cup night here at The Meadows. The Rookie Rebel, Fanta Bale stayers final and Cup consolation feature on a superb card of racing. We isolate the best chances in each race. Race 1 No. 1 I’m Honey and No. 6 Bun Tornado Leaning to the red with an EW hope to the 6. Both dogs can figure in the finish. Race 2 No. 7 Video Referee and No. 5 Recycled Maiden final. Speculation on a few who could run into this at odds with any inside trouble and there could be. The 7 a silly quote as is the 5. Places heavy players at least. Race 3 We are giving a wide berth. No plays. Race 4 No. 2 Gunnai Bold and No. 5 Burn Along The 2 is a winning machine. 22 times he has scored and will give another sight here. The 5 has a very strong form line and only the trip is the question. Both will get up there early. Race 5 No. 7 Cuthbert Binns and No. 2 Ossana Bale The 7 was good first crack at this trip. Improved again and runs a race at odds in this. The 2 will appreciate the grade and distance. If she leads here she’s hard to catch. Race 6 No. 8 Raiders Guide, No. 1 Fast Minardi and No. 3 Succeed The Rookie Rebel. Great race. The two Tassie dogs hard to beat. The 8 is well boxed and incredibly versatile. As is the 1 who is trained by a master and he will go close to leading here. The enigma in 3 could win if he wants but he does look a cement place play at generous odds. 8-1-3 here. Race 7 No. 1 Orli Bale, No. 8 Fred Rose and No. 2 Piscopo Bale The cup consolation. The 1 is well drawn and will be hard to beat after his semi effort. The 8 is a huge show and a place heavy go all day. Great run last week as was the 2 who gets a lovely run here and is flying. 1-8-2 but backing the 8 EW with confidence. Race 8 No. 5 Palawa King, No. 7 Redeemer Blue and No. 2 Zinzan Chopper The Fanta Bale stayers final. The 5 wins as long as he starts his run in time. Just needs clear running. The 7 is a huge smokie and could hit the frame here and is racing well. The 2 is a quiet achiever who could also surprise. 5-7-2 with the 2 and 7 getting EW plays unless the 5 hits $3.20 Race 9 No. 2 Kai Bale and No. 3 Nitro Harvey The 2 one of the best EW goes if the night. Big class drop and boxed to win here. Will relish this company. The 3 is a Tassie dog and the obvious threat. Can handle any box and will give a sight. The 2 one of the better bets and we are getting EW to play too. Race 10 No. 7 Mepunga Smokey, No. 8 Fernando Phil and No. 6 Alpha Zulu The Australian Cup final. Many chances here. The 7 was superb in his heat and isn’t badly drawn here. Could dart up out wide and get into this early. The 8 will get a cart with him and he’s under rated. Tremendous win in his semi. The 6 can’t draw a box but any luck will see him threaten. A lot of pace in 1 to 5 especially from the 4. Good race coming up. 7-8-6 with the 7 and 8 getting EW plays. Race 11 No. 8 Edsel Bale Will be an EW price but if he holds his line out wide and gets into it up the back, he is very strong home. Can hit the frame here for sure. Race 12 No. 4 Bun Storm and No. 6 Tiggerlong Flyer Very promising the 4 and only needs to offset the box to be a major player. The 6 will be a smokie’s hope but can’t be left out with some good runs lately in good company. Market Market
