Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on October 21, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 1 Sunset Louie and No. 6 Sher Zany The 1 was outstanding last week. A repeat would surprise no one. Hard railer who keeps coming. The 6 will like this trip better. Winds up strongly and can run into the placings. Don’t ignore. Race 4 No. 3 Elite Machine, No. 6 Sneaky Peaky and No. 4 King Tommy The group 2 All Stars final and the field fits the name of the race. These are all stars!! The champ in 3 is due to step. Overcame a slow getaway to swoop home to score in his heat, albeit with help up front. He can be the first dog knocking on Crumble Monelli’s door up the back and if he finds the arm, it’s over. The 6 was super run in his heat. Went fast time to just go under and arguably should have won had it not been for a steady step at box rise. Will play for luck but he’s good and will keep finding. Speaking of a dog who keeps finding, the 4 will just descend from the back. Will start his run past the 700 boxes and will take every gap afforded to him. Nothing will smash the line harder and he’s a chance if he runs up behind these before the home turn. 1 is a chance if he punches up, the 2 lacks commitment, the 5 is racing better than ever, the 7 will show his dazzling pace and hard to catch and the 8 will need luck but is too good to dismiss. Tremendous edition of the All Stars. 3-6-4 for us. Race 5 No. 6 Disco Trixie To Hit Top 2 She can give this favourite what for if she gets into early with a lap to go. Getting better and better and stays all day. Small field perfect and runs top two with an ounce of luck. Can knock this fav over. Race 8 No. 2 Spider Venom The 2 has the draw if he can just see and punch up. Runs time when he’s on and is very strong on the way home. Each way go here. Race 9 No. 1 Get Out Super run last week making sustained ground from the back. Gets a much better draw this time and could land closer. Will get home better than most here and looks ready. Race 10 No. 6 Beckie’s Dream The best roughie of the night. Desperately unlucky to not place last start when running into it before being checked off and wide. She can keep coming when she gets clear room and will be a price. Place heavy go. Race 11 No. 1 Pepper Grinder Good first up effort over this trip last week when having no early luck but running home well to place. If she lands closer this time she will give this lot the business. Looks hers to lose. Race 12 No. 5 Sudden Rain This fav will be hard to stop and looks to remain unbeaten. If ever the 5 starts stepping again, she is capable of running a race and could nab 2nd here. Box manners are costly but she isn’t going that bad. THE MEADOWS Race 5 No. 7 Raven Parrot She lacks early dash over this trip but she was good in her heat and can handle a wide box. A few of these want the arm and that’s where she can work into it. Will hit the line late. Race 6 No. 1 Kadence Bale Finally drawn the red and unbeaten from both goes off the inside. Made sustained ground last week behind a decent dog and this is her chance to break through at this track. Race 7 No. 8 Korda and No. 1 Ailee Bale The 8 needs to lead here but off the box, he could swish over and find the top. Hard to run down when he does get it. The 1 will step fast here and she looked something like her best last week. Will improve again here and hard to beat. Race 11 No. 3 Scott Me He’s far from out of this. Has a decent formline and stepped far too well last week for him when caught wide with no pace. Can run home hard when the breaks go his way. Place heavy player. WENTWORTH PARK Race 3 No. 5 Esme Watson She has been racing better dogs than this. Box a bit sticky but she gets back anyway and just needs a first turn run. These will struggle to hold her out if she gets it. Race 9 No. 2 Emgrand Centre Did enough last week in a much harder race to warrant strong thought here. Has gone sub 30 in the past and while he can take a bit to get into gear, he has strong middle and last sections. The one to stop. Race 10 No. 7 Zipping Kansas Trust. That’s what is required for backers of this enigmatic monster. Can do anything and beat anything on his day, or do absolutely nothing. Suited in the small field over this sprint trip and if he turns up, they won’t hold him off. Market Market
