Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on September 23, 2023September 23, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 1 Skye Monelli and No. 5 Molfetta Drive The 1 was super last week. Made sustained ground from the back to score and boxed to hit the frame. The 5 is better than form suggests and can improve with a better step here and clean air early. Race 3 No. 8 Tessa Nature Ignore last week. Never got into it and gets a better draw this time. Can step and punch around into a spot and she sticks on well. Give her another go at the EW. Race 4 No. 4 Runaway To Mars and No. 2 Dandalup Blazer The WA bred final. The 4 will be hard to stop here off his best start. Can rush up to the arm and hard to mow down. Heat run super. The 2 is the other one who looks for the lead here. Won’t be caught if he gets it as well. Both solid chances to lead throughout. Race 5 No. 6 Hinto His own worst enemy last week when he simply stepped too well. Caught in the wrong spot and put out of the race. Will atone here with a clearer run and he’s ready to hit top 2. Race 6 No. 5 Orokanui and No. 4 Sand Patch The 5 gets one more go at the big odds. He can surprise if he begins better. Capable of the upset. The 4 will go fast and she is very good on the arm. Only has to offset the box to be a major force and can win this. Race 7 No. 2 It’s A Dime and No. 4 Poppa Monno Giving the 2 one more chance. Boxed to lead off the draw when she steps her best and gets every hope to lead throughout here. The 4 will take a a bit to get into his work but once he does, he’s hard to hold out here. Just needs to stay close early. Race 8 No. 4 Golden Chopstick and No. 1 Kingshott The 4 would be a deadset bird in this if she was a bit fitter and had a more solid prep. Coming off a short trip win and can still figure. The 1 is boxed right where he wants to be. Rails well and can step quickly here to show up early. Don’t ignore him. Race 10 No. 1 Big Girl Kiki Finally gets her box. Will land much closer this time and make her fast run up the back and keep hitting the line. Best chance to break though now. Place heavy play at the very least. Race 11 No. 8 Clifton Iyla and No. 4 Disco Trixie The 8 ran a great race at big odds last week in a similar race. She can cross again and will give another great show if she is left alone. Top 2 at huge odds here. The 4 finally broke through last week and will again charge home to hit the frame again. Just needs a clear run. Race 12 No. 8 Fearless Max Poleaxed last week off the middle draw and forget that. Boxed to stay out of trouble here and will look for that clear run into the back where he can start his work and run home for a frame finish. THE MEADOWS Race 5 No. 6 Serena Bale Steps back up in trip and will dart out here to look for the arm. She sticks on well and while the trip is right on her limit, she can figure here with early luck to get away in front. Race 6 No. 2 Whitely Bale and No. 3 Jigglypuff The 2 simply looks the one here. Class runner who will step quickly and give these a stack to catch. Should go close with an ounce of luck. The 3 is the best roughie in the race and can give a sight here. Strong to the line and a girl of EW show Race 8 No. 6 Moraine Suzie Clearly the best stayer in this race. She gets back but starts a long sustained run home that these can’t stop if she gets a clear passage. That’s all you are betting on. Traffic the only thing that stops her here. Race 9 No. 4 Trending Zari and No. 7 Fred Rose The 4 gets the necessary room around her here to punch up early. Runs time when allowed to stride and will get that chance here. The 7 was good last week in a tough race. Consistent and will keep coming and can even get up there early. Race 10 No. 2 My Bonneville and No. 3 Xyloid Bale The 2 will get a lovely run here off the red. Cuts loose up the back and he’s very strong on the way home. Clear run and he doesn’t miss the frame. The 3 will also get a similar map and he’s ready to win. Good effort last time working home well and lands closer here. Save. WENTWORTH PARK Race 3 No. 6 Oceanside Super midweek effort to miss the start and find the fence then charge through along the rail to hit the line strongly for 2nd . Only needs a clean first turn and the same will happen for a place heavy play. Race 5 No. 2 Crackerjack Boom Former VIC dog who has won here and gets a great map with 1 and 3 going fast. He’s in behind them and will start his run quickly. Can come from anywhere and will go close here if he gets momentum. Race 6 No. 4 Energizer Miss Small field perfect here and she will start looking for runs up the back. Nothing hits the line harder here and looks a genuine top 2 play to give punters a real show. This is her chance now. Race 7 No. 3 Aston Barak Led last week and gamely held off Zippy Tesla which isn’t easy to do. Will again go fast and if he finds the arm again, it will take a fair effort to mow him down. Huge show again. Market Market
