Harry Buchanan’s Monday Greyhound Best Bets

NORTHAM

Race 2 No. 7 Runs On Gas

Knocking on the door and today’s the day it could open. Only has to repeat last weeks effort to win this and while the slow starts are an issue, he can weave his way to victory here in this limited affair.

Race 3 No. 4 Piper Spolly

Up with the lids last week and she’s better than that, especially at box rise. Will look for the arm here and can cross these inside dogs. Don’t dismiss her here. Hard to catch if she leads.

Race 4 No. 7 Entry Level

He’s like a long lost cousin invited to weddings where the bar is open. He will keep turning up. While he doesn’t have the best strike rate, he only needs first turn luck today to charge through the line. Could get that here.

Race 6 No. 8 Victim Of Desire and No. 5 Emma Monelli

A couple of handy Northam girls who can go well here. The 8 will spear up early and she could sweep around to the arm. That would be it. Similar story with the 5. Only has to offset the box early and drive up which she does, and she’s a threat. Both good hopes.

Race 7 No. 7 Jacopo and No. 8 Barossa Rose

The 7 is another who has been knocking on locked doors lately. This is his chance to muster up and put himself into this. His best goes close. As does the 8 who will enjoy being back here albeit off an outside draw. She can show good drive though and will get the cart up. Strong late. Big show with any luck.

Race 9 No. 5 Harley Monelli and No. 7 Navy Blue Buzz

The 5 is starting to take to this circuit well now and making her run earlier. Just needs a good first turn and she’s in this late. The 7 has a good record here and while box 7 might test him a the first turn, he will be a contender if he gets through will little fuss.

Race 10 No. 7 Fortified Mack

Unbeaten track and trip. Has a class edge on these and can come from anywhere in the run. Fast winner here for her PB and the draw isn’t that bad with the dog inside her giving her a run up to the first turn. Should win with any luck.

Race 11 No. 2 Quid Brother and No. 3 Watusi

A couple of grinders to finish off. Expect them to both look for the arm early here and one of them should get it. Neither can break 30 but nothing else in this can either so in front will be the place to be. Both drawn to give a sight.
