Harry Buchanan’s Friday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on July 21, 2023July 21, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 4 No. 1 Redshift Tango Boxed to win. Comes off a win here last week in steady time but did it the hard way in a messy affair. Loves the inside and has good box manners and should give a superb front running effort here. Race 5 No. 1 West On Roylyn Only has to step and he quickly becomes the one to beat. One out has panels on this field and has a stack of ability. Had the sword run through box at box rise last week and knocked around before recovering to make good ground late for 3rd but the bird had flown. Just as it will here if he holds the arm. Race 6 No. 1 Prime Of Life and No. 8 Nitro Jet The 1 ran a superb race last time in harder company at any old price. Ducked over heels early to then make a sustained run up the back at his first run in 2 months. Moves to his box here and fitter. Big show. The 8 let us down last start but must forgive as he has shown before that he does that from time to time. He can spear across the lot of these and that would make him the one to catch then. Give another chance and strong thought. Race 7 No. 1 Sozin’s Azzuri and No. 3 Ultimate Command Surprised these are both not much shorter. Don’t be stunned if the 1 just rockets out of the cherry here and puts these to an early bed. Early speed his go as is the draw. Not even the fav would run him down so happy to take the $9. The 3 is airborne presently and he plowed ground off the fav last week in the run home in a huge effort. Has been stepping and he just keeps coming. Don’t ignore him on the EW quote here especially considering he’s never missed the frame from this box. Race 8 No. 7 My Dream and No. 2 Litchfield Looking for a blowout here. These two favs have questions and while the 6 should lead on her ear, she gives no indication that 600m will suit just yet and could tire late. Then again she could set up a huge lead and be too hard to catch. Similarly, the 4 has good 520m from as well but placed 3 times over this trip, albeit in harder races, but has also peaked at the top and doesn’t descend home. The 7 and 2 don’t have the ability these favs have but they can run the trip and strongly and the small field can only help, especially with the red showing dash and causing carnage off the corner which he can do. Playing for luck on both these but a spec is worth it at the odds with no dominant 600m dog in this. Race 9 No. 5 Space Station and No. 6 Global Gossip The box draw could make this a train wreck at the first turn. We need the 5 to show his best box manners and punch forward through the middle quickly. If he does he can find himself poised to run home hard in sub 16. The 6 will look for a spear early as well and she goes well track and trip. Another who will look to sweep up quickly and avoid inside trouble which will see her hard to stop as well. Race 10 No. 1 Wild Ollie and No. 5 Lil Bodi Another race where the fav won’t get over as easy as his backers might like. A stack of pace in this and one of those is our boy Ollie on box 1. Has reliable box speed and will insert himself into this instantly with a spear out and rush along the fence. If he holds the arm, good luck getting past him. Same can be said for the 5. The box isn’t that bad here and his best step would see him pierce through early and muster into the back close to the forward players. If he took the arm at any stage the others can wave to him as well as he races away from them. Two big shows here. Race 12 No. 8 Redhead Rider I have long thought that box 8 off this corner start will be this dogs box. On top of that, he has no immediate speed under him and gets the clearest of roads over here so his usual good step would put him in the firing line and quickly. Now should that result in him finding the arm, they couldn’t possibly mow him down after that. This is his chance and he must take it or no more. Market Market
