MANDURAH

Race 5 No. 4 Starlight Gina and No. 5 Wood Fire

The 4, while her form may not show it, will go better here. Has the fence crasher inside her and gets her chance to settle forward. Can reel off time when she’s on. The 5 has raced tough company around Cannington for Chris Halse and while he was disappointing last time here, will find a stack from that and improve immensely with a clear run. Both solid EW shows.

Race 6 No. 7 West On Harmony and No. 6 Bad Desire

The 7 drops back in trip here but that won’t bother her and with her good wide draw here, she can dash up out wide to be a major player late. Has a 22.60 here and anything close to that walks this in. Don’t dismiss the 6 back to Mandurah here. He needs to do something tonight and if he doesn’t then he simply hasn’t come back this time in. Can work his way through field strongly when on song. Main play 7 and save 6.

Race 7 No. 2 Incredible Hulk and No. 4 West On True

The Hulkster meets slightly tougher company for the first time tonight but he is well and truly up to the task for the in form Frances Farrell kennel. Lacks a little in his early section but once he balances up, unleashes that big descending run home that few can hold off in this grade. A clear passage will see him win again. The 4 can be the problem here. Having his 3rd run for Damien Crudeli, he is resuming from a let up and has a very fast win here amongst his 10 track and trip victories. Don’t disregard him.

Race 8 No. 1 Forced Entry and No. 4 West On Fire

The 1 is well drawn here here for Justin Wood. She has been plagued by bad draws and luck and with a slow beginner in 2, can dash up after box rise and hold the fence. Goes well here and hard to beat. The 4 is racing well. She has been stepping quickly over the 490m trip and a drop back to 400m has been proven a master stroke by Damo before. With the very wide running kennel mate outside her, she will have plenty of room to operate. Both great shows here.

MURRAY BRIDGE

Race 5 No. 6 Sometime Crazy

Interesting to see him up the straight for the first time. If he handles it, and there is every indication he will, then he is a major force here. Does most his racing at Gawler but has a nice turn of foot that looks suited to the straight. EW play at good odds.

Race 8 No. 8 Reel It In and No. 4 Tysons Town

The 8 has superb stats here and handles all boxes up the straight. Can reel off a 16.6 and most of these wills struggle to get anywhere near that. Looks the one. The 4 could be a danger if he found the top early. One of few who can run some time and he reserves his best for the straight tracks. Main play 8 and save 4.

Race 10 No. 8 Allinga Lorraine and No. 7 She’s Driven

One of these two really should be winning this. The 8 has been placed 5 from 5 track and trip and is resuming from a let up which should her sprint well fresh. The 7 can also run the time to win and while her form doesn’t look great, she will be a different dog in this field. Backing both in a market that looks wrong.

Race 11 No. 8 Hovey’s Bourbon

Small but select field of straight trackers. It’s the 8 however, who has a lethal record up this 300m straight. 4 wins and 1 placing from 5 starts and perfectly drawn out wide. He only has to come out cleanly to give this fav, who is on a very quick back up, plenty to think about.
