Harry Buchanan’s Daily Greyhound Tips

CANNINGTON

Race 6 No. 1 Lady Day Star

Her good box manners and early speed see her hold the inside here which should enable her to lead by the first turn. After that she will reel off her low 16 to go very close.

Race 9 No. 4 Raven Loon

Coming off a 5-week let-up resumes in a winnable Grade 6. Has raced much better dogs than this, goes low 16 and unbeatable on the arm. Only has to offset box to win.

Race 11 No. 6 Daisy’s Boy

First crack at this track and trip, and while he’s better known over longer he only needs to get a crack at these to be in the finish. Has form lines through West On Cobra and My Dad’s Augie, and will look the winner with a clear run. Place heavy go here.

Race 12 No. 2 Winter Wizard

Track and trip stats superb, runs through the first corner strongly after finding his feet and has sustained muster over this short trip. Will be navigating for a run before the top of the straight where he cuts loose and descends on the front-runners. Great EW play.

ANGLE PARK

Race 7 No. 7 Wreck It Garros and No. 2 Saint Candy

The 7 is perfectly boxed, has terrific track and trip stats and when he steps runs 19.3 which will go close to winning this. Accelerates quickly off the mat and is a definite Top 2 player here. The 2 is a smokie in this race. She hasn’t drawn in for some time and gets a suitable hole for this assignment. Has good box manners and can run time when left alone on the arm. Main play 7, save 2.

Race 8 No. 3 Sentinel McLaren and No. 4 Victa Daryl

The 3 gets his very last chance against these. Will give them a start but has a superior middle and last section if he switches on. Is his own worst enemy by being indecisive in the run. Only has to navigate a clear passage to hit the podium. The 4, whilst not having the best record from Box 4, can surprise here at odds. Ran on strongly behind Rosie Red last start, and will be a player late in the race again at the double figures.

Race 10 No. 4 Victa Maggie

If she can nail the start and hold the front, they won’t catch her. Goes very well over this track and trip, can run time and been racing the better-classed dogs lately. The start will determine her chances and only has to cross the 2 to lead. Then it will be a matter of who gets behind her. Versatile enough to also come off the arm if near the pace.

SHEPPARTON

Race 8 No. 6 Bell Burner

Out of the former Group 1 staying bitch, Bells Are Ringin, they have finally stepped this bloke up to a trip his mother relished. He clearly has the staying pedigree as evidenced by his last two wins at Sale and Warragul over the 650m and 680m respectively. Gave them a drubbing last start by seven lengths and whilst this is a two-dog race between himself and the fav, he is right up to the task and looks a great play today.
