Gloucester Park December 4 – Harness Preview Posted on December 4, 2015December 8, 2015 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Tips Race 1: TABTOUCH SAN SIMEON QUALIFYING HEAT BURNING (3) was a convincing winner after breezing three runs back before finishing a close 2nd to Commander Chapel. He couldn’t get into the race when they rated 1.54.9 for the 2130m last week behind the same horse but is drawn to be more prominent here. His stablemate, CHANGE STRIDE (8), has been in excellent form winning five of his previous eight starts before having gear failure in the 4YO Classic last week and can bounce back. TACT MAJOR (9) was very impressive in his first up win but has a wide draw to contend with, while BHAGWAN (1) doesn’t have the class of most of these but should lead and give some cheek. Tips: 3 8 9 1 Suggested Bet: BURNING (3) each way. Race 2: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS CHALLENGE HEAT 1 MS PACE MILLWOOD FAITH (3) has been taking on our state’s best mares and will appreciate a drop in class tonight. She has led recently and run 2nd to Jungle Jewel and Nuala and, if she can find the top, will be very hard to beat. BETTOR PACK A PISTOL (4) has brilliant gate speed and may to try to cross and would run a big race in that role based on her 2nd to Kiralin in fast time two starts back. SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOUR (1) may also like to lead but looks like getting a nice trip either way and should be thereabouts. BRONZE SEEKER (10) is drawn to get his favourite trip on the pegs and is always dangerous. Tips: 3 4 1 10 Suggested Bet: MILLWOOD FAITH (3) to win. Race 3: TABTOUCH INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS CHALLENGE HEAT 2 MS PACE CYAMACH (7) has taken all before him this campaign, winning four on end and was ultra-impressive here last Friday when he made a mid-race move and was too strong in very quick time. He is awkwardly drawn but still looks hard to beat. NORVIC NIGHTOWL (12) has been flying in standing start events and none of his efforts were better than a fast finishing 5th when knocked over at the start and storming home to break the clock behind Elegant Christian. Gary Hall Jnr will be trying to upset his own stable on FERNLEIGH REBEL (2) who will lead this for a long way and finished a close 2nd to CYAMACH (7) recently, while MAPUA LEGEND (10) is drawn to get a perfect run for the UK driver. Tips: 7 12 2 10 Suggested Bet: CYAMACH (7) to win. Race 4: RETRAVISION INTER DOMINION HEAT 7 LENNYTHESHARK (9) has been dominant in his two heat wins and is the deserved series favourite. He is drawn poorly but there should be a good early tempo which will allow him to work into the race at a later stage and he is clearly the one to beat. MY HARD COPY (7) didn’t have a great trip in his first heat but made amends with a scintillating track record win at Bunbury when he ran on out wide and will be steaming home again. BILLIES A STAR (2) hasn’t had a lot of luck in the series and can improve, while FRANCO LEDGER (5) didn’t get much room on Tuesday and will be looking for big points to qualify. Tips :9 7 2 5 Suggested Bet: MY HARD COPY (7) each way. Race 5: CLIPSAL NORMS DAUGHTER CLASSIC FRITH (10) was a comfortable winner at her debut for Michael Brennan and he is oozing confidence that she can overcome the draw and be the one to beat. Her record speaks for itself but she will have to be at her top to overcome the draw in this quality line-up. NUALA (2) has won 14 of her 18 starts but has found the step up to open mares company harder. She wasn’t disgraced when she faced the breeze and finished 7th behind Leda McNally last week and should be a big improver if she finds the front. MILLY PEREZ (1) should ensure a nice run on the pegs and could be dangerous late, while BERISARI (4) was a fast finishing 2nd at her WA debut and could push forward from her better draw tonight. Tips: 10 2 1 4 Suggested Bet: NUALA (2) each way. Race 6: WESTRAL INTER DOMINION HEAT 8 PHILADELPHIA MAN (9) is undefeated in the series and is 2nd favourite to win the final based on the authority of his heat wins. He has sat back in both races and produced a sustained finish and is likely to do the same here. WAYLADE (8) faced the breeze when 2nd in his first heat before being held up at a crucial stage on Tuesday. He is likely to be put into the race and should be a major player. MAJOR CROCKER (6) was outstanding on Tuesday when he faced the breeze and ran 2nd in track record time and should be thereabouts again. OUR HI JINX (1) has had his Inters campaign plagued by bad draws but did win the QPC four starts back from this draw and could be a big improver. Tips: 9 8 6 1 Suggested Bet: WAYLADE (8) each way. Race 7: MCINERNEY FORD 4YO CLASSIC RUN ONEOVER (1) isn’t the best horse in this race but he has the draw to be the one to beat. He had a beautiful run in transit when beating BEAUDIENE BOAZ (11) three starts ago and has shown that he is capable of running good times in front, particularly over this distance. BEAUDIENE BOAZ (11) was a dominant winner of the Bunbury Cup before facing the breeze in a slick last 800 when 2nd to BETTOR DREAMS (5) last week and will be thereabouts again. MENIN GATE (12) and CRUZ BROMAC (10) both had tough runs at their WA debut in the same race but should be big improvers tonight. Tips: 1 11 12 10 Suggested Bet: RUN ONEOVER (1) to win. Race 8: TABTOUCH INTER DOMINION HEAT 9 AVONNOVA (6) was brave on the first night when he faced the breeze and ran 2nd to Philadelphia Man before looking a touch disappointing when 6th in his Bunbury heat. He can race closer to the lead and his class should take him a long way. DEVENDRA (9) was a comfortable all the way winner on night one before being involved in a blistering first quarter but battling on well at Bunbury. He is drawn poorly but is too good to overlook. BLAZIN N CULLEN (7) has performed well in both heats and should be thereabouts again. MACH BEAUTY (4) wasn’t disgraced when he led and set up a track record time on Tuesday and could give some cheek out in front. Tips: 6 9 7 4 Suggested Bet: AVONNOVA (6) each way. Race 9: PRINCI BUTCHERS BINSHAW QUALIFYING HEAT 3 ASSASSINATOR (1) won four on end in reasonable company before taking on the state’s best 4YO’s and finished alongside Menin Gate when 7th to Bettor Reward. He has the pole tonight and looks set for an all the way win. MUST BE NICE (10) was found wanting when leading last start but should get a perfect run and should be thereabouts. ZNANA (11) had been racing fairly in stands but went to a new level with a great 2nd in a mobile event last start. LUNAR TIDE (5) had no luck last Friday and can improve tonight. Tips: 1 10 11 5 Suggested Bet: ASSASSINATOR (1) to win. Race 10: PERTH AUDIO VISUAL CONDITIONED HANDICAP SS PACE SWIMBETWEENTHEFLAGS (1) is a standing start specialist who led throughout in a similar event four starts back and has been placed since behind Machtu and Our Ideal Act. He is the likely leader and will be hard to run down. BASHFUL COMPTON (4) won two on end here in October and is always dangerous with the right run. SONIC CLASSIC (5) is racing consistently and backs up after a strong finishing effort on Tuesday. BETTOR ROCK ON (9) has hit form recently but has an awkward draw to overcome. Tips: 1 4 5 9 Suggested Bet: SWIMBETWEENTHEFLAGS (1) to win.
