Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 21, 2016April 22, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: CLIPSAL SATURN MS PACE MACH TIME (4) has made a big impression in his three WA runs that culminated in a close up 5th in the WA Derby last week. He takes on older rivals but this is a massive drop in class and he should win comfortably. BERT THE BOOKIE (6) and STRAITTOTHEHILTON (8) have been racing consistently and should be thereabouts again. CANYOUSEE (2) raced well in Kalgoorlie last campaign and can be placed from his nice draw. Tips: 4 6 8 2 Suggested Bet: MACH TIME (4) to win. Race 2: CLIPSAL ZEN MS PACE DENNY CRANE (1) has won three of his last five starts and was a brave 2nd to MAJOR DANCER (6) at his last start when he worked hard at Kellerberin. He goes up in class for this but is drawn to lead and will give a great sight. IDEAL ALICE (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and will be hard to hold out if she gets clear. IMA CONNOISSEUR (5) had a torrid run last start but is racing well enough to be in the finish. THREE BLIND MICE (2) has struggled of late but could be a big improver from this draw. Tips: 1 10 5 2 Suggested Bet: DENNY CRANE (1) to win. Race 3: CLIPSAL POWERHOUSE MS PACE SIR TOSTI MACH (9) has resumed from a spell in stunning fashion with four wins from six starts. He beat Shirlz Sensation two starts back before a close up 5th and looks suited by the staying trip and small field. FIREBOMB (7) has ran two great 2nds in stronger company and must be considered. WALTER JAMES (1) has poor numerical form but can be a big improver from the pole. ALGRANCO UNDER FIRE (3) should get a nice run from this draw and could represent value. Tips: 9 7 1 3 Suggested Bet: SIR TOSTI MACH (9) each way. Race 4: CLIPSAL SAFETY SWITCH HANDICAP SS PACE TOMMY BE GOOD (3) has been extremely consistent and his last run was full of merit when he came from last to run 2nd to Mon Lillies. This is his first race start from stand but he will be hard to beat if he steps cleanly. FALSE PROMISE (6) has been placed at three of his past four runs in similar events and will be running on strongly. WALTZING WITH CULLEN (9) and CHANGE GEAR (7) are both capable of winning from their handicaps with the right run in transit. Tips: 3 6 9 7 Suggested Bet: TOMMY BE GOOD (3) to win. Race 5: CLIPSAL SMOKE DETECTORS THE JOHNSON MARES FINAL MAJOR REALITY (1) had won nine on end before having to sit outside AM OPULENT (9) when 2nd to that mare last week. She is much better drawn tonight and looks the winner. LADY WILLOUGHBY (2) is racing extremely well with three wins and two placings from her five starts this campaign and will be thereabouts from this draw. BONNY UNDER FIRE (11) and PAID TWICE (10) fought out a weaker event last week and both look good place chances from their trailing draws. Tips: 1 2 11 10 Suggested Bet: MAJOR REALITY (1) to win. Race 6: CLIPSAL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC 2YO FILLIES SALES CLASSIC FINAL BEACH GODDESS (4) has two wins and two placings from her four starts and should be hard to beat tonight. She overcame a wide draw to record a comfortable victory in her heat and looks to have plenty of depth. DOALITTLEROCKNROLL (3) was well backed to beat BEACH GODDESS (4) but was checked back to the rear early when 2nd to that filly and could turn the tables tonight. RED HOT ROXY (9) was a 1.57.9 winner on debut and then hopelessly held up for a run in heat. AQUEENSOMEWHERE (6) was a solid winner of her heat and should be considered. Tips: 4 3 9 6 Suggested Bet: BEACH GODDESS (4) to win. Race 7: CLIPSAL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC 2YO COLTS AND GELDINGS SALES CLASSIC FINAL ALLMIGHTYJOELOUIS (4) was impressive in his heat win when settling back in the field and unwinding a big finishing burst. He looks a versatile type and will give a great sight. THE BEACHCOMBER (3) faced the breeze when winning his heat in moderate but is the best drawn of the main chances and must be considered. THE REAL IDEAL (5) was the quickest heat winner and obviously has plenty of ability. SMOKEM JOE (10) led from a wide draw when 2nd to ALLMIGHTYJOELOUIS (4) and should get a soft run from the draw. Tips: 4 3 5 10 Suggested Bet: ALLMIGHTYJOELOUIS (4) to win. Race 8: MEMORIAL DAY STAKES ELEGANT CHRISTIAN (5) worked his way to the lead and was a comfortable winner over CHIEF THUNDERCLOUD (6) last start and a similar scenario looks likely here. MIGHTY FLYING THOMAS (1) has won two of his last three starts and is drawn to get the run of the race tonight or could try to lead. CHIEF THUNDERCLOUD (6) has faced the breeze and been brave in running 2nd at his last two starts but looks in for another tough run. CHANGE STRIDE (4) goes up in class but looks capable of tackling the better company. Tips: 5 6 1 4 Suggested Bet: ELEGANT CHRISTIAN (5) to win. Race 9: CLIPSAL LED DOWNLIGHT MS PACE GLENLOCHAR (6) is yet to break through in WA but his runs have been full of merit. He is a good chance to find the front tonight and will be hard to catch but the staying distance is a concern as his best performances have been over shorter trips. HOLY GRAIL (7) and COMMANDER CHAPEL (9) finished 2nd and 7th respectively behind Mynameskenny in quick time and both must be considered despite their draws. ALL BETTOR (4) is on the comeback trail and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him improve sharply. Tips: 6 7 9 4 Suggested Bet: GLENLOCHAR (6) to win. Race 10: CLIPSAL.COM WESTBRED MS PACE THREE BEARS (6) has been racing in stronger company and performing well. He was less than 5m from the winner when 4th to The Odd Lover in the 4 & 5YO Championship three starts back and ran a solid 2nd at his last run and is capable of overcoming this draw. CYCLONE MITCH (7) was a very good 3rd in 1.53.9 last start and will give a sight despite being destined for a tough run. VULTAN TIN (2) resumes from a break without a trial but will be a winning hope if fit. ALL THE TORQUE (4) is a winning chance if he can find the front. Tips: 6 7 2 4 Suggested Bet: THREE BEARS (6) to win. Bet Now
