RACE 1

Even race for the fillies, MONEY HONEY with race experience deserves favourtism, tried hard but no match for the heavily-supported Buggsy at Sandown on debut. FOX PHIRE was my pick of the debutants for Shane Jackson, jumped out well alongside a promising stablemate at Camperdown recently and has important early speed. Respecting AUTUMN CHARM on debut for Nick Ryan, D Lane has done the prep work and follows to race-day. VELOCITE BELLE next best on debut for Team Freedman.

RACE 2

BONUS SEASON put in a big performance in defeat at Geelong for the flying Begg stable, she has the right form to be winning this moderate event and only needs a shred of intent early. FARAKTA looks the only threat if any, charged home from the back at Pakenham with a chequered run in the straight. HEAVY IS THE HEAD has shown enough to be competitive again, this is stronger than what he faced last start. TISSEYRE has speed and leads them up.

RACE 3

Open race with many chances. PASADENA was in the market on debut at Ballarat and ran well and then spelled, two quiet jumpouts, Jye McNeil legs aboard in a race lacking depth, key chance. WEASEL SEA has good speed and will look the winner, last 100m will test. BOA VISTA resumes off two jumpouts, tested in stakes grade, she finds a winnable race first-up. Bedggood pairing JETSETTER JACK and FIERCE THE IMPACT are a watch in betting first-up.

RACE 4

LARIO is likely to come across and lead, he is down in grade out of a strong race and a two-time winner on the home track, will take catching. HOUDINI is flying for Gavin Bedggood and suited coming back in trip to 1700m, Ethan Brown back in the saddle and forward in the run, it looks a good race for him. DIAMOND GUST is better placed back to this level. MOVE THE TORANA went forward last start at Geelong recording a gritty win. LATE HARVEST jumped out well prior to a fair effort at Cranbourne, need to see again.

RACE 5

BRUTAL TEMPO was slow to muster and given time to balance up at Yarra Valley, love the way he hit the line on one rein up the straight, but it was a slow race. Bigger track and 1400m suit. Local SILKY SETH is going ok raced on speed in a fast race at Ballarat and stuck on, blinkers go on and D Lane so worth respecting. UPSTAGE is another key winning chance, warm late when the race was over first-up behind a progressive winner. Sure to improve further going to 1400m. SIMPLY GOLD resumes. Hard to make a case for anything else.

RACE 6

THAT’SMONEYBROTHER raced without luck first-up at YV when too far back than expected, form at the jumpouts suggest he’s in for a good preparation and worth another chance in this. With a strong speed up front set by EMPIRE SONG, BRUSIER MURPHY will get his chance from the back, lacks early speed so that tempo is important. PRINCE PIENZA has drawn to be more prominent, comes through good maiden races winning his latest. SUPERLIV brings the best form line to be competitive and won a jumpout at Flem between runs.

RACE 7

PULA is extremely well-placed for the Danny O’Brien stable on their home track. Strong market support in higher grade at Sandown last start and swamped late by an in-form mare. Drawn to be handy and hard to beat coming back to 1500m. SIMPLY OUTRAGEOUS will challenge for lead honours, Meech back aboard a positive. CADILLAC SAM is fresh out of maiden grade defeating a sub winner, will be dictated to by the speed. QUELLO DORATO and LA BELLE GRANDE have wider chances.

RACE 8

Speed runners drawn wide. MR BLUNT is the starting point. He was backed to win first-up, missed the start and raced ungenerously in amongst horses at the rear. Needs to improve on that effort, in a moderate race he can bounce back. DANTOOINE is the likely leader coming across, if left alone he will take beating. SUSSEX DUCHESS and STREET CONQUEROR land midfield together, both needing pressure up front to bring them into the race.
