Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Caulfield Preview Posted on November 18, 2025November 18, 2025 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 Even bunch of 2YO’s. KO PHANGAN is a big, strong Ole Kirk gelding on debut for Busuttin & Young, showed speed to get handy in each of his jumpouts and has the low draw to take advantage, Mark Zahra a key booking. ANGELIC RISE has the benefit of race and course experience having had a trial on the Heath track, just a plain effort on debut, could improve onto a drier surface. ALMOST AN ANGEL has jumped out well in small fields at Cranbourne for her debut, she can run a race but has a sticky draw to contend with. ASTILLA also on debut won her latest heat at Mornington under no pressure, need a market push. Selections: 2,5,4,6 Suggested Bet: KO PHANGAN win RACE 2 AITU ticks a few boxes, lightly raced and improving, found the 1800m too hot at listed company after a good maiden win at 1400m. Down in grade and back in distance are both in his favour and is well-placed to win again. ON BROADWAY is a consistent mare and presented to win at Mornington and found one better, M Zahra may prove the difference. BLUE COWBOY was in the market second-up at Pakenham and disappointed on a heavy track, another appreciating drier conditions. CASH CONVERTER is racing well and meets a field of similar types to him lacking a finish at the end of their races, visors go on to help focus. Selections: 4,6,1,2 Suggested Bet: AITU win RACE 3 Low maiden race. PUGLIA is a long time maiden and gets a chance to breakthrough in this field after a good effort first-up at Sale when no match for the impressive winner, scratched from a meeting last week she’s drawn to be prominent and fighting out the finish. MARINE EXPRESS will have admirers first-up for the flying Begg stable, her jumpouts have offered no guide to how she’s returned for this, holding the level she produced in her first campaign the obvious danger. WOLFOFFITROYSTREET was just ok on debut when expected to win, gives the impression he will improve with more racing and head gear. COOLY likely goes back and needs to circle the field. Selections: 9,7,6,10 Suggested Bet: Quinella 9,7 RACE 4 Fast tempo expected. EGERTON was scratched from the meeting here last week, first-up off 23 weeks and rising in grade, two quiet jumpouts, she’s the most progressive mare in the field and can win this fresh if wound up. FUROSSHI appears the only threat, running her to best and is hard & fit for recent racing, the quick back-up is a positive and has Mark Zahra aboard getting every chance. FILEETA was plain last start and freshened, solid at this level prior, blinkers go on after a recent jumpout win. GROUSE MOUNTAIN is a genuine mare resuming, drawn well, watch betting. Selections: 6,4,3,2 Suggested Bet: EGERTON win RACE 5 SMART LITTLE MISS plugged in the heavy first-up and worth forgiving. She is a course winner with a big finish and can improve sharply second-up finding a race with plenty of speed up front. HUSTLE IN HEELS was met with strong support after a jumpout win and duly saluted with a good ride at Cranbourne, 1000m sees her out and should get every chance from the inside. YOU’RE TWO VAIN is unbeaten and faces his stiffest test, another speedy type who will have company up front. MISTY LEGEND is an interesting runner, first-up for the Carly Thomas stable, formerly with Team Hawkes in Sydney, fitness won’t be an issue after three jumpouts. Selections: 6,5,3,4 Suggested Bet: SMART LITTLE MISS 1 x 4 RACE 6 OCEANS ABOVE should be peaking in fitness and was oustanding in defeat with the race shape against here last week, if Craig Williams can get him midfield and off the fence in the straight then he’s the clear horse to beat staying at this level. BOGUES and DURBAN HARBOUR come through the same race at Kyneton with litttle separating the pair, the former should improve with a run under his belt. SUNTORA has been pegged right back after contesting stronger races this campaign, her efforts have been just fair, Mark Zahra jumps aboard. Selections: 6,5,2,7 Suggested Bet: OCEANS ABOVE win RACE 7 Should be a truly run affair which sets up for TEMPRANILLO who was impressive in the way she knuckled down to score at Kilmore to break her maiden. A steep class rise against her own sex but finds a winning opportunity with the speed engaged. EMPIRE OF PAIN was aimed up at Flemington over the carnival and led up the field before puncturing the final furlong, suited by the drop back to 1600m with an in-form Ethan Brown controlling the speed. ENCHANTED JENNI has improved for the new stable and received a brilliant ride to win again at Cranbourne, maps for all favours trailing the speed. DANCING DOLLY has switched her pattern around resulting in improved efforts, another winning chance. Selections: 7,2,3,6 Suggested Bet: TEMPRANILLO each way RACE 8 TENNESSEE BOUND is a star on the rise on the evidence of her two wins to date and smashed the clock at Cranbourne last start, she is again well-placed around this tight circuit to complete the hat trick. THE GRUMPY BEAR was sent to the front at Wangaratta and took luck out of the equation, suspect they adopt similar tactics with Logan Bates aboard from a low draw. STEALTH OF NIGHT is a progressive mare resuming and is capable if she can overcome a horror barrier draw, with runners kicking up her inside she may have to circle the field from off the speed. WOLF TWENTY ONE has jumped out well between runs and is on the up. Selections: 4,3,5,1 Suggested Bet: TENNESSEE BOUND win NEXT BEST: R4#6 EGERTON Market Market
