RACE 1

The race experience appear to have a slight edge. THANKS GORGEOUS has the right formlines to figure coming back from a good 2YO campaign. Her recent Flemington jumpout was impressive. Two debutants have caught the eye at the jumpout stage. KIPPIS is a speedy Exceed And Excel filly with Ciaron Maher and has Jamie Melham booked for her debut. RUSSIAN SKY is well-bred filly and was produced at Camperdown late August to win a jumpout showing speed and professionalism. Any market moves important with the gap between j/o and race-day. SOMERSAULT improved in her latest jumpout for Grahame Begg and the heat has proven to be a strong form reference.

RACE 2

CASTELLITO has more upside than most and that’s priced into the market, she again displayed her greenness despite winning first-up when heavily bet at Kyneton. The rise to 1300m suits and finds another winnable race. BAJARIA has a tricky draw but is well-placed to make the class rise after breaking her maiden at Sale defeating two subsequent and impressive maiden winners, Rosa Aetearoa & I’mateez. MONGOLIAN GOBI tried hard in defeat here last start, six week freshen with a quiet Flemington jumpout last week. DANCINGONMYOWN was heavily-backed to win a weak maiden at Wodonga, this much harder.

RACE 3

SHINY NEW DEEL was placed to win on Geelong Cup day and removed from the abandoned meeting. A genuine horse, he can race on-speed and is a winning hope in this stronger event. HIYAAM PROUD is the class runner of the field with excellent form lines and a good fresh record, jumpouts have been hard to line up, tricky draw. OPENING ADDRESS was a good return at Seymour, can improve sharply in this race as a second-up winner previously. POLITELY DUN resumes off a short break and will make his presence felt at the end of a mile, needs the speed on.

RACE 4

TIKEMYSON has found his best form since arriving in Australia, swamped late by an impressive winner of the Horsham Cup, he can settle close to the speed from a good draw and overcome a significant rise in weight. MICKIO was smashed in betting when dropping in grade at Echuca, he lumped 62.5kg and did it the hard way, with more luck in the run another winning chance. BLUE ISMAY had a soft maiden kill at Pakenham and reunites with Jamie Melham. AUTUMNHEAT can take a closer position after getting too far back at Sandown last start.

RACE 5

TENNESSEE BOUND was ultra-impressive defeating a weak maiden field at Kyneton running up to the strength of her jumpouts. She finds a winnable race rising in class with gate speed to overcome the draw. Best of the day. MARILYNS EDGE is hard & fit and will give a sight on the rail as the likely leader. KA YING LUCKY is on the quick back-up from MV, recent form poor, his best efforts come when sitting off a fast tempo in chute races, he gets that here at 1100m, dropping in grade. LAKE FOREST & FUROSSHI come through the same race at Seymour, the latter has a tricky draw.

RACE 6

Race of the day. So many angles, YALDI impressed at the jumpouts and is first-up from a spell for the first time in Australia, he has a touch of class being a G2 winner in NZ, if he has a weakness he lacks grit in a finish, expecting a big run. HARRY’S YACHT holds a win over the former and followed him around at the jumpouts. SCILLATO is another to catch the eye at the jumpouts, she’s lightly-raced with upside, the form around her 3YO campaign is a query. TREMBLES is a key speed influence, she goes to 1100m for the first time.

RACE 7

Even contest. QUIETNESS is appropriately named on his Coongy Hcp run, a noted betting drift late and worked to the line with perhaps something else in mind. If this is the target he’s weighted to strike. GOD’S WINDOW is in his 1st Australian prep and suited rising in distance to 2400m, he fared best at the barrier draw. SAYEDATY SADATY was just fair in the Bart Cummings, that’s proven to be a key form reference this spring and worth respecting. MARK TWAIN is capable, needs a fast speed in his races to be effective.

RACE 8

FEAR NO EVIL gets the blinkers on and is placed to win at 1300m fresh after an impressive Flemington jumpout leading in. Nash Rawiller can own this race from a wide gate. GRID GIRL mixes form, her best efforts have come fresh and will be charging home off an expected fast tempo. TOURNELLE is hard and fit and drawn to be in the finish. BARBARIC LAD backs up after a Geelong defeat, drying track conditions in his favour.

RACE 9

BIG SEXY is progressive and resumed with a dominant win at BM70 level at just his third career start. He meets his more seasoned competitors struggling for form and can win again with a positive ride on or trailing the speed. ACTIVE DUTY will be up there contesting lead honours, he had terms to suit at Ballarat and missed a run at Geelong, this is harder. GUERITE was sent forward with money on at Geelong winning fresh, gap between last start, forgive. HELIX comes off a freshen up, drying track conditions improve his chances.
