Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Sandown Preview Posted on May 21, 2026May 21, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 Big field and a stack of newcomers. Wide barriers no penalty coming out of the chute. NICCTINI has looked good as one of the debutants, drawn out, professional and tries hard in her jumpouts. SEMANTICS for Godolphin and A & S Freedman has drawn the inside, not always an advantage here at 1000m. Won latest trial at Caulfield Heath switching from Sydney. NIGHTINGALE LASS is a speedy filly by Farnan and will take running down. HOME INVASION also one of the key speed influences. Selections: 8,11,9,2 Suggested Bet: NICCTINI each way RACE 2 ALDER is flying, favoured by the pattern at Terang and was very brave at Warrnambool, a month between runs. Drawn to settle forward with an important 3kg claim. ALMAIRAC can threaten if ridden positive on what looks a soft speed, from a good draw he’s down in the weights and ready to win. SEA STRIKE will go forward, every chance at Bendigo last start and same again. BLUESTONE lacks a finish, always consistent. Selections: 1,12,6,7 Suggested Bet: ALDER win RACE 3 No defined leader, MILOS FILOS could take up the running using an inside draw. PALM ANGEL and GLISK can come across and settle handy. MISS REVEALING finds a race she can very competitive, freshened after a terrific run in the Mornington Guineas and she lands in behind the speed to fight out the finish. AMADEI is the most progressive horse in the race and drops back from stakes grade in Adelaide, she was impressive breaking maidens first-up. Selections: 4,8,14,11 Suggested Bets: AMADEI each way RACE 4 GILDED WATER is headstrong and will lead whether the rider likes it or not, his jumpouts have been eye-catching and looks the one to run down first-up. Stablemate SHOCKLETZ got out late and savaged the line at Bendigo first-up, the 1800m is perfect second-up with the speed on. The Eurell-trained EUPHORIC could cause a blowout, he’s racing out of his grade but does like speed in his races and the 1800m is ideal second-up. WONDERBOY was extremely well-ridden at Flemington, Newitt was patient and chimed in late, good way to ride him. First try at the distance. Selections: 3,7,9,2 Suggested Bet: GILDED WATER win RACE 5 WINNASEDGE is a proper 1000m horse and is well-placed from a wide gate coming out of the chute, he’s had three jumpouts for an in-form stable and looks a key winning chance. PER SEMPRE was scratched from Caulfield Heath on Wednesday for this, ideally needs some sting out but is racing well this prep. LANDMARK got too far back fresh and hit the line nicely, he jumped out strongly leading in, sure to be in the finish again. ACTUALITY is racking up the convictions, query on her want to win this time in. Selections: 2,12,10,15 Suggested Bet: WINNASEDGE 1 x 3 RACE 6 BELLA VERONA was a tragedy beat at Caulfield after an outstanding debut win at Cranbourne. Steps to the mile quickly which is some query. Horse to beat. HIMALAYAN is on the quick back-up, strong market support at Caulfield and didn’t have all favours grinding home. From a soft draw can land closer to the speed. Respecting the winning form of border-hopper TIPTOP TORI with Logan Bates engaged, likely goes forward from the wide draw. Open race overall. Selections: 9,12,2,4 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 7 NATIONS CALL and DRAGOON pair up in front, not much pressure for the early lead. NARBOLD should land in a good spot and looking to improve second-up on his excellent run first-up behind the well-backed Makdane. Top pick in an even race. BONIFACE creates interest, Australian debut, french form hard to line up. SEAFALL putting it all together and now looking for the hat-trick, in the mix. Selections: 6,11,10,12 Suggested Bet: NARBOLD win RACE 8 RECON followed up his monstrous win at Mornington with a fast-finishing effort in the G1 Goodwood, lower draw not ideal. KING ZEPHYR gets the speed on and a dry track to show his best third-up, a profile he’s won off previously but has had an interrupted prep this time in. EL ROCKO was brave as he always is setting a good clip in front, he’ll do the same, prefer it wet. MIGHTY ULYSSES was supported at Warrnambool first-up and ran well, mixes form, his best is good enough. Selections: 5,13,7,8 Suggested Bet: RECON each way RACE 9 Brutal finish. Chances galore, speed coming across from ROSA AOTEAROA out wide to join ROADCONE and TEST OF LOVE. Looking for a swooper late in the day and that could be CASTLE ON HIGH coming along quietly at the jumpouts for Cliff Brown. Current 3rd emergency, if he gets a start capable of figuring. RED GALAXY should find a similar position off the fence midfield and blending in, freshened, no jumpouts, sure to be wound up in this stable. Chances don’t end there. Selections: 19,17,9,7 Suggested Bet: Exotics Market Market
