RACE 1

Good race for the juveniles. Leaning race experience. VEGA VIXEN showed speed at the jumpouts, had to win the hard way taking a sit and taking the gap at Caulfield which gives her the versatility to win again, forward in running gives her an edge over STAR OF DOM specked at odds and made a good debut chasing from off the speed at Sandown. With more intent early she looks the danger. CALL ME LATER makes it’s debut for Moody & Coleman, recent jumpout was good, watch betting. DIVINE DOT is hard & fit, meets a strong field here.

RACE 2

MADIYYA is ready to win and will appreciate the weight relief down to 57kg against the boys. Draws a good gate to be winning provided she handles the ground. NOBLER is progressive and well-placed switching states for the Waller stable, another with a query on a rain-affected track. TERRORTORIAN can figure if he gets a run, steep class rise, however, this not a strong race for the level. Stable flying. Hard to make a strong case anything else.

RACE 3

A wide open race. Two leading hopes are DIRNASEER and MISS REVEALING, the former was heavily-backed first-up and did enough without being impressive, given every chance in the run. Straight to the mile second-up is a big plus and the stable is currently airborne. The latter is most consistent and importantly has form on a rain-affected surface. Taking on the boys but a wining hope. GEESEVEN received a good ride at Seymour and open to further improvement, BEL MEYZAAN becoming hard to catch, in the mix again.

RACE 4

Straight race, doubt they go quick. BIOLOGICS is a progressive filly with Grahame Begg, her trials were impressive as was the first-up win at Werribee, drawn wide likely the place to be, top pick. WISE INLAW had promised more than she delivered until she found a straight race over the 1200m and bolted in, she can repeat the effort and win again. SNALLYGAGSTER is the unknown switching states, she does get a soft lead and deserves respect in a good stable. HIGH ON THE HILL is good enough, inner draw the query.

RACE 5

FIRST CHORUS is backing up quickly into another winnable race and looks one of two likely leaders in the race, only a modest tempo expected. KHADIME will punch forward and struck form this preparation, form out of the last start 2nd when up in grade should hold up here. STYLISH can sprint well fresh off her recent trial win. DUCHESS ZOU is deep into her campaign and racing well, map is sticky.

RACE 6

Good speed expected with runners drawn wide going forward. Ideal race for the talented SPIONE with Team Hawkes switching states, he can drop out from the barrier and come with one run which he likes to do. HE’LL RIP will follow him or have a headstart on him. Best roughie in the field is VELLASGLORY put down some creditable efforts last campaign, another who needs speed on and the race shape should suit. LAA DE SHA gets a nice drop in behind the speed if he’s good enough.

RACE 7

Trap race, no speed, big field and hard to assess with a few differing form lines. If SHOCKLETZ can be positive from an inside draw with Logan Bates she rates a good chance now third-up, soft track no issue. BRAVE MISS was well-backed in a listed race in Adelaide and disappointed, back to this easier event she deserves respect in current form. The lightly raced KINGOFWALLSTREET has more upside than any in this field and comes out of a stable capable of producing one fresh. The speed in the race is a negative. Import ZAHRANN didn’t run up to the market support here fresh, can improve.

RACE 8

The progressive ROCKETTE has two things in her favour, the big Flemington track and 2000m, she handles soft track conditions, but the negative is the gap between runs. BRAVE DANZA had market support and never looked like losing here last time, tough draw for Luke Cartwright to navigate. DECALOGUE is in a similar position, form in NSW hard to line up, expect a fit horse. HIMALAYAN should appreciate the bigger circuit, hits a flat spot when coming off the bridle so needs a strong ride, like the step up to 2000m.

RACE 9

They should run along from both the lower and wider draws. Looking for a swooper and SILVER MAGNATE fits the bill first-up and is unbeaten fresh, two jumpouts have been on the synthetic. Would prefer it dry so she’s on weather watch. ROSA AOTEAROA is flying for Reece Goodwin and draws the inside, he may prove too quick for them, how the inside is playing bears notice. Wider chances to ROYA INSIGNIA and CELSIUS STAR the latter is racing well for the in-form Mathrick stable.
