Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on February 19, 2026February 19, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 The speed is hot! CASTELLAR was outstanding winning here second-up sitting midfield and wide without cover, he sprinted quickly in the straight for a soft win. He goes to 1100m advantaged by the speed runners drawn his outside to bring him across, hard to beat if can run the extra trip out. EXPULSION maps well in behind the hot speed and drops in grade, sure to be popular. VERDOUX will land in a similar spot, a tough race to win fresh, watch betting. SWEETHEARTED next best. Selections: 4,12,11,3 Suggested Bet: CASTELLAR win RACE 2 PALLATON raced out of his pattern at Caulfield last start and wasn’t pushed in the straight, worth forgiving of that effort and returning to his own age group, from a low draw he gets a soft run in transit. WISE INLAW and DEVIL NIGHT are likely to take up the running, the latter has looked ok at the jumpouts, could improve this prep. ROSBERG is hard to line up, jumpouts just fair did have a slight issue, need a betting push. REDDERS is an interesting nomination, scratched from a benchmark race at the Caulfield Heath on Wednesday, he was well-backed to win fresh for new camp, could surprise. Selections: 3,1,2,7 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 3 The speed is unclear. SUN GIFT sat off leader and winner here at 2400m last start which proved the difference in result, Williams may be more positive using the draw and join the early speed. Back to 2000m is a positive. TAKEN is a winner and building an imposing record, he was gift-wrapped a soft lead to score last time, now goes to 2000m for the first time and is a month between runs. MAGNASPIN should lead, he rolled off the fence handing the win to Suntora and stuck on bravely in defeat. IMMEDIACY was solid fresh and improves with a run, he’s in the mix also. Selections: 3,4,8,2 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 4 Open race with many angles, Matt Cumani has a two-pronged attack, SINGLE CHOICE relaxed in the run with blinkers off and chased a fit winner home beaten narrowly, can only improve further and has D Lane overcome a wide draw. The resuming DEAL DONE FAST was given a very solid trial chasing over 1200m which should have him prepped for the 1800m, a query on the 3YO staying form and pace needs to be strong. OUR CHIEF is hard & fit, he lacks a finish but drawn to be competitive again. THE BETTER HUSBAND can land a soft lead and may take catching. Selections: 4,2,3,12 Suggested Bet: SINGLE CHOICE win RACE 5 SHEZA ALIBI brings the outstanding form lines for this contest fresh off 14 weeks. Two jumpouts suggest her spring form carries over, inside gate is sticky and will need luck getting off heels. SALTY PEARL was enormous first-up, the race did not go to plan settling further back than expected and forced to weaved runs. A chance to land a pair closer this time. CHAUTEAU EZE is a big watch, caught the eye at the trials and impressive over the short course first-up, she may end up with the right run, wide and out of traffic. SPICY LU can sprint well fresh. Selections: 1,2,6,3 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 6 The pace appears to be strong with WROTE TO ARATAKI and BOSSY BENITA sharing lead honours. Value play BENAGIL is airborne at the jumpouts for her return to racing and the speed up front brings her into winning contention. DAMASK ROSE was given a perfect ride first-up chasing the all-the-way winner, no match over last 50m. Sure to be fitter and gets a sweet trailing position if Williams can replicate the ride. PARADISE CITY is on the 7-day back-up, made a significant leap winning at Flemington and needs to go up another level again, big ask. Selections: 1,5,2,9 Suggested Bet: BENAGIL 1 x 3 RACE 7 A modest speed predicted makes this a tricky affair. TREASURETHE MOMENT is the class factor and starting point in the race, impressive jumpouts, she will be relying onto something to pull her into the race. That could be EVAPORATE who looks forward to return showing a sharp turn of foot in a recent Werribee jumpout. FEROCE appears somewhere near his best after a good return at 1400m, may be looking for the mile. PERICLES has trialled well and deserves respect. Selections: 7,3,6,1 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 8 CLOSER TO FREE has a sense of timing about him, the Street Boss gelding appeared under pressure and found again at the end of 1100m on debut beating key rivals, he’s sure to be fitter again and will take beating from an on-speed position. ALIBABA was enormous in defeat in the Inglis Millenium at Randwick, drawn off the track, fitness no issue. ETERNAL WARRIOR loomed to win first-up and bumped into a smart one, in his 2nd race preparation he’s had the planning to improve and win. UNIT FIVE is a professional colt and Magic Millions winner, a query around what he’s beat to this point. Selections: 3,2,6,1 Suggested Bet: CLOSERT TO FREE win RACE 9 Speed genuine led by 3,4 & 11. POINT BARROW is an exciting filly taking on an even bunch of older horses, her jumpouts have been slick in the hands of the best grand final trainers. She will be dictated to by pace and pattern, the weight relief is negligible given her racing style. Top pick. GEES GEES MISTRUTH is another backmarker in excellent form, luckless fresh in the W.J Adams, recent jumpout was outstanding, a bad barrier to overcome, with clear air in the straight she can win. SHE’S BULLETPROOF has a map advantage on most, a repeat effort of last year’s run would take beating. TROPICUS best of the on-speed brigade. Selections: 14,10,6,3 Suggested Bet: POINT BARROW win RACE 10 This is a good race for last start winner TWO WOLVES finding what appears on paper to be a fast run 1400m for his rise in class. Still on the up whilst many of his key rivals are deep into preps and coming off hard racing, he can flop out from the draw and come with one run down the middle. PORTER sets the tempo early as he did here last start and faded late, expecting more of the same, STEALTH OF NIGHT has important tactical speed and looked the winner last time, down in the weights again so a genuine threat. AUTUMN MYSTERY resuming gets speed on to suit. Selections: 13,6,12,9 Suggested Bet: TWO WOLVES win Market Market
