RACE 1

NATURAL FLING is a natural 2YO by Home Affairs winning both her jumpouts leading into her debut, the latest was very impressive! Provided she handles wet ground this looks her race to lose. JARBARDAR created a big impression winning on debut when heavily bet to do so, this is much harder. SHOOTING BRAKE was an eye-catching 2nd at Caulfield Heath without much luck, can improve further. AEMOND shows ability at the jumpouts for a leading 2YO stable.

RACE 2

XTRA RUSH comes back in trip as the likely leader and handles wet tracks, he’ll give a sight from the front. SIMURGH made an impressive Australian debut in defeat running on hard at Pakenham, up in trip with prospect of settling closer, he looms as a major threat. A DIVA is current 2nd emergency, she goes to 2000m which is a query, may get a soft lead if she runs. REGAL LION has been in work a long time, fitness no issue and drops in grade.

RACE 3

BONA SFORZA brought good form across the ditch but failed at her Australian debut in the Oaks, that was at 2000m, she’s ideally-suited back to the mile, wet track some query. HIMALAYAN bolted in winning his maiden and looks to have further upside. JETT SMASH is again a winning chance with the rain forecast, short nippy action to get through the heavy conditions if they eventuate. AZAZEL has jumped out well to return and sure to be wound up.

RACE 4

Good tempo expected. CHERISH ME is a big watch second-up with the blinkers back on, needed the run fresh and has been back to the jumpouts since. Handles soft ground, and wide draw may be an advantage. BRASS IN POCKET has change-up speed and that puts her in contention up in grade after a dominant maiden win. BELLA VERONA was confidently backed on debut after impressing at the trials and jumpouts, settled off the speed and reeled them in with something in hand. Gate one is sticky. TWO TO TANGO can make use of a middle draw to take a trail, she chased home a potential star at Flemington in a fast race, this easier.

RACE 5

FARHH FLUNG is the best roughie on the card, improves significantly second-up and caught the eye at the trials this campaign, yes to a wet track if it eventuates. OCEANA DREAM was put in the right spot at his Australian debut and stuck on for a gritty win surprising the market. Tried over a staying trip in his 1st campaign he appears suited staying at the shorter distances and can improve further with fitness benefit. Unknown on wet ground. EVERAIN is still on the up as a lightly tried 4YO, he’s drawn well to take a handy position in this stronger race. NARBOLD can sprint well fresh.

RACE 6

They will go quick, speed drawn out. Looking for a swooper and (7) ELOUYOU maps nicely to drop in behind the good speed and charge late, he enjoys wet ground and is a proven weight carrier. BUSTLING is a big watch first-up for the Price & Kent stable, sure to be fit despite coming off a long break. CALL TO GLORY has done a stack of work at the jumpouts to be fit and ready. ALONG THE RIVER is airborne for the Cerchi camp, worth considering.

RACE 7

GREEN FLY will be buoyed by the forecast, in flying form this campaign in NSW and is well-placed in this race with plenty of speed engaged with the inclusion of EL ROCKO who dodges a wet track at Warrnambool, he too loves wet ground and will give a sight. BRAVE ONE switches states and has a good second-up record, barrier one may prove a negative. CARTOON GRAVEYARD the Tassie galloper is hard to line up, deserves respect.

RACE 8

Hard race, no speed. BLACK RUN may get it soft and enjoys wet ground. LAND LEGEND improve at the trials to begin the campaign and hit the line nicely in a return to form. IMMEDIACY raced keen and disappointed last start in the Mornington Cup, he may find this easier if he can settle. ANTRIM COAST may be the best roughie, he’s ready to show something now and looked good at the jumpouts for the new stable. One of many chances.

RACE 9

Best of the day MARSEPT, outstanding jumpout win on a heavy track at Werribee before running a stakes grade filly to a length first-up, the maiden win was a formality thereafter. Strikes a very winnable BM78 and soft track conditions in her favour. PERSIAN CAVIAR is dual nominated, put in the gun spot by Holly Nottle at Sandown in an on-pace dominated race, if he takes his place a winning chance. SWIFT FORCE is another interesting Tasmanian visitor. First-up and unbeaten fresh, ticks a few boxes, big watch in betting.
