Flemington Thoroughbreds Preview – 20 February Posted on February 19, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 1 NO.1 ALL CERISE ALL CERISE is enjoyed a great campaign and looks the one to beat again when she runs in the Curragh Racecourse Trophy (1600m). The Chris Waller trained mare has been a winner of her past three starts, including a last start win at this track and distance on January 30. She is likely to roll to the front again and, in her current form, it will take a smart mare to run her down in the final stages. There are no other runners in this race with current winning form at 1600 metres and ALL CERISE is well placed to make it four wins on end. RACE 3 NO.8 ESTAMINET Progressive mare ESTAMINET looks the best bet of the day when she runs in the Auckland Racing Club Trophy (1000m). The four year old enjoyed a strong spring campaign with three wins and two placings from five starts, and commenced her current preparation in a similar vein with a dominant win over 955 metres at Moonee Valley on January 29. Whilst this is a step up in grade, it is the natural progression for a mare with ESTAMINET’S form to run here and win again. RACE 6 NO.4 PALENTINO PALENTINO was a genuine hardluck story when finishing 7th behind PURITAN in the Manfred Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 6 and can make amends when he runs in the C.S.Hayes Stakes (1400m). The son of Teofilo raced in restricted room for most of the Caulfield straight and should have finished much closer to the winner on the occasion. He will be fitter for that run and should appreciate stepping up in distance on the spacious Flemington track. If he is a genuine Australian Guineas contender, then PALENTINO should win this race to confirm that status. Bet Now!
