Match Overview

England under head coach Roy Hodgson will attempt to get away with a high scoring win in their first Group match of Euro 2016.

The star-studded line up of Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy will be looking to attack and score quickly against their hard fighting opponents.

The English are ranked 11 in the latest FIFA rankings and come off a 1-0 win over Portugal in a recent friendly.  (They could be rivals in Quarter Finals again).

Meanwhile, Russia had a 1-1 draw with Serbia in their recent pre-tournament friendly at the Stade Louis II in Monaco.

The goals were both scored in the last five minutes of the game when Russia striker Artyom Dzyuba of Zenit netted the first at the 85th followed by the equalizer from Serbia’s Aleksandar Mitrović of Newcastle United three minutes later.

Russia is expected to finish second to England in Group B as manager Leonid Slutsky will have at his disposal some of his best and most experienced players at CSKA Moscow, namely Igor Akinfeev, Sergei Ignashevich, Vasili Berezutski, Roman Shirokov, Aleksandr Golovin, and Aleksei Berezutski.
