Euro 16 – France v Republic Of Ireland Posted on June 24, 2016July 12, 2016 | Posted by Sportsbettingmax.com Stade des Lumieres – Sunday 26th June, 9PM AWST Recent Form Switzerland 0 v France 0 Italy 0 – RO Ireland 1 Head to Head France 6- RO Ireland 4-Draw 5 Recent Match 2009 FIFA World Cup – RO Ireland 1 – France 1 Match Overview Expect France to take no prisoners against Ireland this Sunday night. Payet, Griezmann, Giroud and Pogba all likely to begin in a 4-3-3 formation. Jonathon Walters is expected to be missing again for Ireland. Martin O’Neill is expected to start the same line-up as he did against Italy. France were unbeaten in the group stage of the Euro 2016 championship. They defeated Romania 2-0 in the tournament opener, before beating Albania 2-0, then sharing the spoils with Switzerland in their final game. Payet has been a standout for France with two goals so far this tournament. Both Griezmann and Giroud have also scored one each while so far Pogba hasn’t really got going yet in the tournament. With France having already qualified before the draw with Switzerland it’s thought that they would be happy with this result. They now have to fire up again, with the “weight of the nation is on their shoulders” in this sudden death stage of Euro 2016. Ireland were among the four best third placed teams that qualified for the knock-out stages. After drawing their first game of the tournament against Sweden they were humbled by Belgium (3-0). In the last game against Italy a single goal victory gave them their place group of 16. Ireland were probably lucky to get Italy when they did, they had already qualified for the next round. Ireland simply have not looked in the same class as France. This game could have a similar result to the Belgium-Ireland game which could have been closer to 5-0 had Belgium been on target in the first half. France may start the game defensively but expect their powerful midfield and talented pack of forwards to be too good for Republic Of Ireland. Player Watch Staying with Dimitri Payet here for France. He has been in scintillating form and there is no need to switch. Match Result France 2-0 Bet Suggestions Option 1 – France $1.44* Option 2 – HT/FT France $2.15* Option 3 – First Goal Scorer – Payet $6* and Giroud $4.50* Odds correct at 11am 24 June and subject to change.
