Chris’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on July 8, 2016July 11, 2016 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 1 No.10 Persistent Shadow Gympie trained filly who raced consistently in North/Central Queensland before being brought to town last time out and making good late ground at Eagle Farm over 1200m. Like her rising to the 1350m tomorrow and she’s bound to gain the right run for Brad Pengelly off the good draw. Rates a terrific each-way chance. RACE 2 No.8 Divine Service This looks a two horse race with the speedy types Upstart Pride and Divine Service very likely to control proceedings from the outset. Divine Service draws inside his main rival and at the weights has a whopping 6.5kg advantage which will prove all important when the chips are down in the straight. That should be enough to see him get home. RACE 7 No.3 Brettan Deagon trained galloper who chased home the flying Flamboyer at Eagle Farm a fortnight back in a fast run race. Flamboyer has since come out and won again landing the Listed Glasshouse at the Sunshine Coast last Saturday in impressive style. Fitter for that outing he’ll gain a cosy run behind the speed tomorrow and prove hard to hold out over the concluding stages.
