Disposition Showing Right Signs Says Durrant Posted on September 20, 2017 | Posted by Julio Santarelli Adam Durrant says classy gelding Disposition is displaying all the right signs ahead of the $120,000 Listed Hannans Handicap (1400m) at Kalgoorlie on Wednesday. Disposition is set to make his stable debut for Durrant after winning six races for co-trainers Grant and Alana Williams and Anthony Freedman in Melbourne. Disposition has not raced since the Strickland Stakes (2000m) in July and is searching for his first win since the Chatham Stakes (1400m) at Flemington two years ago. “I’m really pleased with him and he has come up well,” Durrant said on TABradio. “He has shown no signs of his ambitions to be a race horse. “There are not too many who are working better than him at the moment. “He came to me in really good condition and has given me something to build on. “If the right Disposition turns up it’s a no contest. “But whether I have him like he was a few seasons ago I can only tell you at the 200m mark.” Disposition, a three-time Group 1 placegetter in the Kingston Town Classic (1800m), the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) and Toorak Handicap (1600m), carries top weight of 59kg. The Reset gelding, who has drawn barrier six in the field of 12 starters, will be ridden by champion jockey, William Pike. Disposition has met solid support and is currently quoted a $3.40 chance after firming from $5.50 when TAB markets opened on Monday. Durrant is out to claim his third Hannans success after previous wins with Texan (2012) and Keyton Grace (2007). Pike is chasing back-to-back wins after guiding Socially Unique for Grant and Alana Williams 12-months ago.
