RACE 1

RUN TEDDY RUN gets a 3kg weight swing for finishing just over a length behind ROMAN DANCER over this distance at Leinster last Saturday. Expecting Zephen Johnston-Porter to be positive and prove hard to run down. ROMAN DANCER was a price last start, it’s unlikely you’ll see anything resembling that today. SECOND CHOICE can rebound from last-start failure. OLD TOWN PREDATOR fourth pick.

RACE 2

LEADER BIAS looms as the likely leader here. Two starts ago over this trip at Leonora, led throughout to beat SECOND CHOICE for Ava Catarino. Carried 57kg on that occasion and with her claim, sports the same impost today. KIDLAT hasn’t won for more than 1500 days, but appears better suited at 1400m than 1600m. ARTICULATOR and HOTORIO can measure up with good runs.

RACE 3

KENDEL’S IMPACT had excuses when running fourth behind LEADER BIAS when in the market. If all is well, it wouldn’t be a shock if he breaks his maiden status at start No.39. It’s that sort of race. YOU CAN TELL ME has Geraldton maiden form which, while not all that flattering, is better grade than this. GINGER JIVE is just ahead of LE WREN.

RACE 4

If the best version of BITOVEMU turns up, he boasts superior formlines to anything else in this race. He is an open-class galloper with just 60kg on his back and is a last-start winner in 56+ company. Granted, he goes up 4.5kg, but ran fifth behind CAPTAIN SHARMANE at Pinjarra earlier this year. JAKE THE PEG needs to elevate off a maiden win, but is going along well. HAWK and WARPIPES finished in behind BITOVEMU last start.

RACE 5

AMELIA’S BELIEF made it two on the bounce when taking out the Leonora Sprint a fortnight ago. It followed a dominant win over WARPIPES three weeks earlier and we get to see WARPIPES take on BITOVEMU the race prior. Now has to carry 57kg and meets consistent conveyances WHO’S YOUR MAMA and KLONDIKE KENNY worse off, but he boasts a 33% winning strike-rate over this distance from 15 attempts. ZEEWIJK can use gate one.

RACE 6

Pat Bermingham’s decision to target these outer country track cups with GOT LUCKY has been a masterstroke. Success in the Leonora Cup was followed by a dominant win in the Leinster Cup. Now has to carry 59kg here, but is full of confidence and clearly in the sweet spot in regards to distance range. LAUTRE comes back sharply in trip and while he may be a few lengths off them turning for home, watch for him to be strong late. Old timer LOOKING GREAT is tracking soundly. WAR CLASS has found GOT LUCKY too good recently.
