Deane’s Moonee Valley Preview Posted on November 25, 2016November 25, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 1 – NO.2 MOONLITES CHOICE MOONLITES CHOICE suffered her first defeat in four runs when finishing 6th behind PROMPT RESPONSE in the Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m) at Sandown on November 12, however she can bounce back to form when she runs in the 3yo Benchmark 70 Handicap (1600m). The Darren Weir trained filly will appreciate the extra distance of this race whilst dropping in class on stakes level last time. She gets the benefit of Ben Allen’s 2kg claim and looks good value in the small field. RACE 2 – NO.1 CAO CAO CAO CAO looks well placed to record his first win when he runs in the Whiteman Property Super Vobis Gold Plate (1000m). The Mick Price trained colt ran a strong 2nd behind ASPECT in the Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) at Flemington on November 5. The son of Fastnet Rock will be better for that raceday experience and looks very well placed in this race. He only has to hold his form to win this race, if he has made any improvement then he appeals as one of the better bets of the day. RACE 5 – NO.4 BLACK SHEEP BLACK SHEEP has displayed a real liking for the Moonee Valley circuit and looks the one to beat when he contests the Benchmark 78 Handicap (1600m). The six year old has had four starts at the Valley for two wins a luckless last start second behind ENTRE NOUS over 1600 metres on November 11. He is drawn for a great run this time and elite senior rider Brad Rawiller takes the mount. On a tough program, BLACK SHEEP represents the best bet of the day.
