Deane Lester’s Flemington Best Bets Posted on March 6, 2020 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 1 NO.2 MUNTASEERA MUNTASEERA has been racing well in the best of two year old company and will appreciate a drop in class when she runs in the TBV Breeders Stakes (1200m). The Maher/ Eustace trained filly was luckless when finishing 2nd behind LETZBEGLAM in the Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield on February 8 before running a brave 5th behind TAGALOA in the Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 22. She was thwarted by a wide draw and a leader biased track but still battled on bravely over the final stages. This is the right race for her and she appeals as one of the better bets of the day. RACE 3 NO.11 SCOTTISH DANCER SCOTTISH DANCER is a progressive type from the Price/ Kent stable that looks a solid each way chance when he tackles the Nova100 Trophy (1400m). The son of Dream Ahead produced a big finish to record a dead heat win over 1300 metres at Sandown Lakeside on February 12. He has been kept fresh for this race and will appreciate a slightly longer distance this time. Whilst he takes on stronger opposition, SCOTTISH DANCER has genuine upside and should run well again. RACE 5 NO.10 WILD PLANET WILD PLANET will appreciate a massive drop in class when he runs in the March Stakes (1400m) and appeals as the best bet of the day. The four year old ran a luckless first-up 7th behind ANAHEED in the Rubiton Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on February 8 before an excellent 4th behind STREETS OF AVALON in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 22. Not only does he drop in class but he also drops 5kg on his last run. He is yet to miss a place at Flemington, has an excellent record at this distance and looks drawn for a sweet run; should be winning. Market Market
