Deane Lester’s Caulfield Preview Posted on August 26, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 1 – NO.3 LEOTIE Promising filly LEOTIE looks ideally placed to record her second career win when she runs in the Wedrive.com.au Plate (1400m). The Henry Dwyer trained galloper scored a big win over 1200 metres at Sale two starts back before a fast finishing second behind I AM A STAR in the Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 13. She is drawn for a sweet run and will relish a step up in distance. This is an ideal stepping stone for next month’s Golden Rose (1400m) and she appeals as one of the standout bets of the day. RACE 3 – NO.11 MAJESTIC LASS Talented mare MAJESTIC LASS can atone for a luckless defeat last start when she runs in the hockingstuart Plate (1400m). The four year old was a dominant winner over 1200 metres at Caulfield on July 16 before conceding too much start when a fast finishing fourth behind REFUSE TO LOSE over 1200 metres at Sandown on August 7. She recorded the best sectionals of the day on that occasion and looks ready to step up in distance. She has a terrific record at Caulfield and looks well placed to record her fourth win from just nine starts. RACE 7 – NO.2 BLACKHEART BART Former WA star BLACKHEART BART looks poised to record his second group one win when he runs in the Memsie Stakes (1400m). The six year old has had five starts for the Darren Weir stable yielding two wins and three second placings including a group one victory in the Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville on May 21. He hasn’t raced since his brave second behind UNDER THE LOUVRE in the Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 11. He is a winner of the Victoria Handicap over this track and distance, and appears drawn for a cheap run from barrier 5. He’s a very genuine horse that looks the best bet of the day. Bet Now!
