Deane Lester’s Caulfield Best Bets Posted on April 27, 2018June 7, 2018 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Best Bets RACE 2 NO.5 DIVINE QUALITY Talented mare DIVINE QUALITY kicks off her autumn campaign when she runs in the LU Simon Builders Handicap (1200m) and appears ideally placed to make a winning return to the track. The four year old is unbeaten in two previous first-up runs and comes off a fruitful spring campaign in which she had four runs for a win and two placings including a very solid second behind the multiple city winner MILWAUKEE over 1200 metres at Sale last October. She has trialled nicely in preparation for this race and appeals as one of the better bets of the day. SuperPick - Race 2 No. 5 Divine Quality - Win Boost RACE 3 NO.8 MY PAISANN MY PAISSAN is running into form and looks a strong winning chance when he contests the Benchmark 90 Handicap (1600m). The four year old carried 61kg when finishing a brave 2nd behind BALCAZAR over 1600 metres at Pakenham on April 19. He will be improved by the run at this distance and drops 7kg for that run. He was a Caulfield winner last winter so he likes the track and will be ridden by Nikita Beriman, who experienced success on the horse last campaign. In an even race, MY PAISANN looks a good each way chance. RACE 4 NO.13 PLEASANT PLEASANT is an exciting prospect for the Busuttin/ Young stable that should be fitter for one run back from a spell and looks the one to beat when he runs in the Benchmark 70 Handicap (1100m). The five year old has been sparingly raced due to injury but has won two of his three starts to date including a dominant first-up win over 1200 metres at Pakenham on April 5. Whilst this is a stronger race, he drops in weight and has the capacity to make his own luck; sure to run well again. Bet Now
