Chris Nelson’s Saturday Newcastle Preview Posted on November 14, 2025November 14, 2025 | Posted by Chris Nelson Race 1 Main meeting in NSW this weekend comes from Newcastle as we head out of town for a couple of weeks. Track should be good. Interesting race to get the meeting underway with the youngers going around, all 12 acceptors are on debut, it’s all about the trials! I’m always a fan of a trial winner from the Snowden yard & we have one here in (3) SEEIAYE who won his latest in good style at Rosehill. He draws the pole gate which will likely see him enjoy a trouble-free run. (4) TENENBAUM is the expensive runner, purchased for 750K who has won both trials. (8) MYSTICAL ran on well from off speed at her only appearance. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 8 – 12 Suggested Bet: MARKET MOVES? RACE 2 The consistent (9) STRAWBERRY IMPACT chased home well behind Rotagilla at Randwick last start over 1500m. Placed his only start out to this 1600m range he takes the step up today looking very well placed to go one better. (7) DIAMOND SHOW is yet to win on a dry track with all successes to date coming on rain affected ground, gets another chance here. (8) PERFECT JUSTICE is an improving type well in here with the claim, must include. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet: STRAWBERRY IMPACT TO WIN. RACE 3 No surprise to see an open looking Highway! (8) UPWARDLY MOBILE has been consistent of late around this level finishing on the heels of the placegetters on three separate occasions. Gets another chance here however strictly on an each-way basis. Should (1) CREDIT CONTROLLER be able to overcome the wide gate she’s not without a chance, placed 3 of her past 4 she’s won & placed twice out to this mile trip. (15) MOUNT BONA is another with a wide gate, has plenty of upside also being only lightly raced. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 15 – 2 Suggested Bet: UPWARDLY MOBILE EACH-WAY. RACE 4 (10) MAID OF MOOLAH doesn’t look a bad price in early markets here considering she’s in form, carries a lightweight & maps to park on the lead in a race with little speed. She’s raced here only once for a win which came about two back when resuming from a break. (3) EDITING should be ready to show up third run back from a break; this is certainly no harder than recent efforts & the good draw is a positive. (6) DANCES WITH HOOVES looks close, (8) MISS BUSSLINGER’s only win did come second up, place chance. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet: MAID OF MOOLAH TO WIN. RACE 5 Super keen on the lightly raced & promising (4) MERIDIANA who charged home from last to win first up before again very strong to the line at Randwick in the rich 4 Pillars just failing to reach the winner. 1600m ideal today, she’s going to be powering home. (8) ROTAGILLA was a solid Randwick winner second up when well supported, beat Strawberry Impact who goes around in Race 2 today, we’ll get a good guide there. The very consistent (5) FEAR NO EVIL led throughout first up down south, in the right stable & is already a first up winner. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet: MERIDIANA TO WIN. RACE 6 (10) BELLE DETELLE has a touch of class about her having won the G3 Adrian Knox earlier this year before embarking on a Queensland winter campaign. She’d had a long arduous prep & likely felt the effects of that in Brisbane not running up to her best. First up at Randwick she hit the line well over 1500m, the rise in distance is ideal. (1) HOLLYWOOD HERO beat all bar the winner in the Little Dance on Cup Day, primed third-up should run well even with the big weight. (11) KIND WORDS will look to quickly offset the wide draw, building to a win which is in all fairness a little overdue. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 11 – 8 Suggested Bet: BELLE DETELLE TO WIN. RACE 7 Under the set weights conditions of this Group 3 race (1) GRAND PRARIE does look well placed. He’s a winner at this level (stronger race) three back & his two outings since have been solid, note he had zero luck the latest posted deep throughout. His overall form is a lot stronger than his rivals. (10) VERITY is nicely bred by The Autumn Sun & certainly heading in the right direction winning her past couple, the latest here. (7) LONG LEGS has metro form lines, (9) ROSA INCANTA first start away from town won here last start showing typical stable fight from the front. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet: GRAND PRARIE TO WIN. RACE 8 Highlight of the day is the one million dollar The Hunter over 1300m. Three winning chances in my opinion & you could do worse than put them in a boxed trifecta. (16) CLEAR THINKING gets the nod having stormed to victory first up in the Kosciuszko on Everest Day at Randwick. She’s won 5 of her 7 starts, is obviously well above average & more than capable of improving off that run. (11) ACCREDITED strips fitter for the fresh run & drops plenty in weight, 6 of his 7 wins have been on good ground, he resumed on a soft (6). The big watch is (14) YORKSHIRE who we haven’t seen since February, very smart & well supported in early markets. Trial win was good, monitor betting closer to race time. Numbers: 16 – 11 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet: Box up top 3 selections in exotics. RACE 9 The Beauford sees the stayers stretch out to 2300m. Queensland Derby winner (2) MAISON LOUIS hit the line well second up in the Hill Stakes behind the flying Lindermann. Well supported next start he finished down the track however there were excuses pulling up with vet issues. I’ll give him another chance. (1) HUETOR ran a much-improved race last start, fifth up here he’ll take further improvement & note his only start here was a 1600m win earlier in his career. (6) GRAND PIERRO rates well numbers wise, include. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet: MAISON LOIUS EACH-WAY. RACE 10 Keen on the chances of the second-up (14) BRAVE ONE who found the line strongly in a race not run to suit at all first up at Randwick. He also lumped 61.5kg in the process & yes whilst this is a tougher assignment he drops 7.5kg to help offset that. (5) WHINCHAT resumes with a good fresh record & favourable draw, likely to be right up on speed from the outset. (4) MAYFAIR was $201 in the Golden Eagle; suggest we wipe that run completely & go with the Silver Eagle third behind Linebacker the run prior. Numbers: 14 – 5 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet: BRAVE ONE TO WIN. Market Market
