A repeat of that & he may be off to the Group 1 Champagne over a mile at Randwick next month. His only danger looks to be the unraced BOBBY SHIRAZ who won a recent trial, out of that trial came Libertad who won very well on the Kenso track Wednesday. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet: FELIX THE SCAT TO WIN RACE 2 With THE RED KITE saved for the next race it’s all about SANTERO here. She was very strong to the line winning here first up really pulling clear late, that was 1600m, this is 1805m which based on that she’ll lap up however we will have to take a short quote. SHE’S THE GIFT is the only pace in the race on paper, she hasn’t been far away her last couple & can hold down second spot. MUBARIZ & BOTTEGA both in the placings mix. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet: SANTERO TO WIN RACE 3 Electing to go around in this race THE RED KITE looks well placed, I do prefer him staying at the 1600m at this stage. He hasn’t drawn well however he’s shown at his two wins here he’s quite versatile winning from the back then the front, he looks too good for these. COGNAC can improve second up, nothing went right when resuming. ROSE OF DUPORTH didn’t fire last start however previous form very consistent. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet: THE RED KITE TO WIN RACE 4 Here’s a good race which I’ve narrowed down to three main chances being SHA OF GOMER, FEARLESS KNIGHT & COMPASS ROSE. I can find negatives & positives for the trio starting with SHA OF GOMER who is racing well however I’m not convinced is suited out to the mile. FEARLESS KNIGHT has Group form, bolted in a maiden first up, has been a bit hard to catch though? COMPASS ROSE is only lightly raced however was a good winner last start, might now be after further. FEARLESS KNIGHT might be the one with most upside & better suited over today’s trip, I’ll lean his way. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet: FEARLESS KNIGHT TO WIN RACE 5 With absolutely no weight & having shown a turn of foot to win last start I’m with HELEVA DEAL. Yes, she did enjoy a good run that day however when asked to get about her business in the straight she picked up very quickly & the race was soon all over as she opened right up in the run to the line. TIP OF THE SPEAR does have the better Sydney form & gets no knock from me, the weight difference is my concern. SCARLET TUFTY isn’t far away, GO MILLO had a horror trip last start & toughed it out well. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet: HELEVA DEEL EACHWAY RACE 6 Wide open affair. I’ll go with FUN SPONGE who has done absolutely nothing wrong winning his first 3 starts before narrowly beaten by the above average Briars Kingdom here a fortnight back. Being such an open race we can back him on an each-way basis. RATIONS is one who can improve sharply even though this is short of his best, he likes this track. Good money around for the newcomer to the Lockwood yard SUNFALL who will be piloted by Jimmy Orman, definitely respecting that. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 8 – 16 Suggested Bet: FUN SPONGE EACHWAY RACE 7 Only THE BIG GOODBYE & GREYWORM to go forward on the map suggesting this isn’t likely to be run at any strong tempo. From a wide draw I’d be surprised if LEGAL ESPRIT wasn’t positive from the gates as he could end up with the trail behind those two leaders. His first up run was good, he’s fitter & holds a very impressive second up record. THE BIG GOODBYE will give a sight, just prefer him across the road at Doomben though. I was super keen on HILAL first up, nothing went right however he may need further? Numbers: 8 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet: LEGAL ESPRIT EACHWAY RACE 8 The good alley sways me to FASTCONI who was likely beaten by the gate last start having to go back & give away too much start. He ran on well however the task was always going to be too big from way back there. Jimmy Orman can settle him closer this time & if that’s the case he’ll be hard to hold out. Team Snowden runner BILLIONDILLARBABY has the form & the jock with Ben Thompson being engaged. Money around for KIPSBAY who was on fire last prep & draws a good gate. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 9 – 12 Suggested Bet: FASTCONI EACHWAY RACE 9 Going with some value in the last putting the second up BAANONE on top. Surprisingly big odds first up he was beaten a small margin not getting a lot of room late in the straight, he’s drawn out here however that might be a good thing as he can wind up with a big finish. No doubt BRIARS KINGDOM the toughest to beat, MAGIC CHARLEE looks overs. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet: BAANONE EACHWAY Market Market
