Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on April 3, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson Race 1 No. 4 Damaged Godolphin colt who has only had the two starts for a debut second here on Boxing Day before resuming recently at Warwick Farm when although only beating 5 rivals looked very good in the process and you can bet he is going to take plenty of improvement from that outing. With a softish surface highly likely his breeding suggests he’ll handle it without any issues whatsoever and the engagement of James McDonald is a huge plus as he’s riding so well at the moment. Big chance! Race 2 No. 3 Reloaded ‘Yours for theirs’ odds about this Chris Waller trained 3yo who is dropping back 400m from his last start placing in the Rosehill Guineas behind Castelvecchio beaten 3 lengths. He was closer the start before here in the Randwick Guineas not helped by a wide draw and drops back to Group 3 company tomorrow drawn perfectly for Nash Rawiller who will make sure he has him settling close enough to strike in the straight. Race 6 No.8 Ole Kirk Team Hawkes trained youngster who has registered a win and placing at his two starts however with better luck should be unbeaten. Unfortunately for all concerned he just couldn’t strike clear running early enough in the Sires at Flemington when finishing best of all runners into 3rd spot late beaten under a length. He’s nice and fresh coming into this however take note has trialled at Randwick in between scoring a narrow win. That should have him ready to go here!
